Meet Nugget, our 2022 Winnebago Hike 172BH.
We bought this travel trailer due to its rugged, compact size that combined a family-friendly bunkhouse layout with outdoor adventure features and some major upgrades.
My favorite standout feature is the upgraded electrical system, designed to give you more flexibility when camping away from traditional RV hookups, outdoor kitchen, and the easy tow-ability that still allowed us to travel in some tighter spaces with our Ford F150 truck.

A major upgrade to the electrical system! The 3,000-watt inverter-charger converts battery power into 120V AC electricity for compatible household-style appliances and outlets, while providing battery charging when connected to a suitable AC power source.
* 200Ah Lithium Battery Bank
Equipped with two 100Ah lithium batteries, providing 200 amp-hours of total battery capacity. Lithium batteries offer excellent energy density, reduced weight compared with many traditional lead-acid batteries, and efficient power delivery for off-grid adventures.
* 400 Watts of Solar Power
Two 200-watt solar panels provide 400 watts of solar capacity to help recharge the batteries and extend your time away from electrical hookups.
* Dometic Air Conditioning with Soft-Start Upgrade.
The Dometic roof-mounted air conditioner has been upgraded with a soft-start device that reduces the initial electrical surge when the compressor starts. This allowed us to run the AC off the lithium battery and inverter set-up anywhere between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours.

The furnace uses propane for heat and electricity to run its controls and blower, making it well suited to camping away from hookups. The upgraded inverter and lithium batteries provide additional electrical flexibility, while the solar panels help replenish the battery bank during daylight.
