Description
RARE 2022 SPRINTER 2500 170 TRUE 4X4 CLASS B RV CONVERTED VAN CO. FEATURED BUILD
Price: $114,900
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Mileage: 12,097
Rare find for anyone who wants a true 4x4, with an $84,737 professional build (build only, not including the van), plus upgrades we added after purchase for our YellowStone trip. This is a 2022 Sprinter 2500 170" high-roof Class B RV with the factory selectable 4x4 and low range. 2022 was the last model year Mercedes offered real 4x4 on the Sprinter before switching to AWD, so these don't come up often.
It was professionally built by Converted Van Co. (Orem, UT) and is featured in their "favorite builds" gallery. It has 12,097 miles, 630Ah of lithium, a 12V A/C, a diesel heater, a power rear couch that converts to a larger queen-size bed, a toilet stall and a rear hot/cold spray-down shower. It's been proven in heavy Rocky Mountain snow. Before winter, it's getting a professional winter prep detail: hand wash, clay bar decontamination, and a 12-month ceramic paint sealant. I'm a private seller, and the build invoice is available.
WHY THIS VAN IS HARD TO FIND
----------------------------
Last of the true 4x4 Sprinters. 2022 was the final year of the real selectable 4x4 with low range. Newer Sprinters are AWD. If you want genuine 4x4 capability, this is the one to look for.
A builder favorite. Converted Van Co. features this van in their "favorite builds" gallery: https://convertedvan.co/blogs/vans/james-sprinter-170
Low miles. It has 12,097 miles and was bought nearly new.
Proven. It's been driven in heavy snow at the top of the Rocky Mountains, and it was powerful, smooth and planted the whole way.
HOW IT DRIVES
-------------
Honestly, it's easier to drive than you'd expect. It feels much closer to a big SUV or minivan than an RV. You sit up high with great visibility, and the ride is very smooth. The true 4x4 is why we bought it: we love driving in the mountains and in snow, and it's been confident and planted the whole way. Parking is easy too. At Yellowstone, I pulled right into the crowded visitor center lot and parked out front, no problem. That's the beauty of a Class B.

HISTORY
-------
I bought the van nearly new with about 7,000 miles on it. Since then I've added about 5,000 miles on one trip from the Midwest to Yellowstone. It's now at 12,097 miles.
We bought it planning to travel a lot more. With little ones at home, it's been challenging to get out as much as we hoped. It deserves someone who'll use it the way it was built to be used.
The build invoice is available on request, with personal info redacted.
