Description
I chose to invest more time and money to guarantee the van is mechanically and visually ready for a new owner and address buyer concerns . I had the front of the van repainted to correct the fading from the Texas sun. I also updated all of the plastic on the van to be a darker charcoal black to update the appearance to a more modern look. Then, I went to the Mercedes dealership and asked for any repair needed to drive coast to coast. Based on recommendations , I replaced all 4 tires (Michelins), did a 4 wheel alignment, replaced the oil separator to correct a seeping leak, repaired the resonator, replaced both engine/cabin filters, and replaced the oil filler neck. This was a mixture of preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance to provide years of trouble free exploring. I truly did everything to ease any concerns about driving this van anywhere and looking great while getting there. See the new exterior pictures to see the transformation .
This is a 4x4 3.0l V6 DOHC 24V diesel sprinter campervan with 144 size and a high roof. Clean Title. I am 62 and can stand straight up with an inch or two of margin. This van is simple to drive, and cruises at highway speeds with ample power. The best part is it fits in a regular parking spot, so it fits in the driveway, on the street, or in any parking lot space. It has a backup camera. It is the perfect size for outdoor adventures. Current mileage is just over 98k. Since this van is 4x4 and not AWD, it gets much better MPG on the highway. 4x4 can be engaged when stopped from the drivers seat. There is plenty of power in the engine, and it is rated to tow 5000lbs. The engine is unmodified, and has had the Mercedes emissions update installed prior to my ownership. I purchased this van a year ago to be used for a trip to Alaska. I unfortunately had to delay retirement so am unable to keep the van nor did I make it to Alaska.

I had the Mercedes dealership perform the 3 year service including oil change, fuel filter, brake fluid flush, and replaced the power steering hose/fluid. I also replaced the track for the sliding door so operation is smooth and the door opens and closes completely. The engine and transmission run great. For proof of ease of travel, my wife drove this van from Colorado to Texas without any issues. This generation diesel has a def tank for emissions, and it burns clean.
From the pictures you can see the suspension is firm, which helps with crosswinds when on the highway. The driving position is high with clear visibility for confidence on the road. The tight turning radius makes maneuverability on tight city streets a feature .
Van has power locks/windows and remote that locks/unlocks doors. Van is equipped with cruise control and backup camera. The windshield has tint to block UV. Ac and heat both work.
The middle plywood of bed is removable and leaves 2 benches and clear floor space front to back. One bench has electrical and one has water system.
Also, underneath van is very clean without rust. Very solid, added photo to show. This van has clearly been stored inside for much of its life.
The van has a basic build complete with a fully functioning electrical system with 4 roof mounted solar panels, charge controller, batteries and a 3000W inverter. The van has a DC air conditioning roof unit that is very efficient. See photos for components. The interior is lighted with small led puck lights. The electrical components can be accessed via a hinged door on the bed platform . Gauges and controls are mounted on the front face of the bed .
The water system has a 25 gallon tank fill able from outside, basic plumbing to the sink. Currently there is a leak in the filters under the sink so it needs to be repaired.
The van has a diesel heater installed on the drivers side rear wheel well and vented to the front via ductwork under the bed. It is adjacent to the water tank.
There is a sink, refrigerator and 2 burner induction cooktop as a basic kitchen.
Ample storage under the bed accessible from the front or rear. The bed fits a queen mattress.
In the passenger side bodywork There is a small indent behind the sliding door, and a small crease on the roof also behind the sliding door. Neither shows bare metal or rust.
Van is ready for a new adventure and can be used as is or make it your own. Great bones and proven layout, ready for a modern refresh. Mechanically sound, and has the best generation of the Mercedes diesel engine. The mechanics at Mercedes view this as the most reliable generation, and their favorite to work on.
