Description
2022 Winnebago Revel 44E 3.0L V6, True 4WD with Low Range 19,500 miles Custom Baltic Birch Garage Build
2022 Winnebago Revel 44E on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, with the 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel and true 4WD including a low-range transfer case. Worth noting for anyone cross-shopping: For 2023 Mercedes moved the Sprinter to a 2.0L four-cylinder with AWD and no low range, so this vehicle's highly desirable drivetrain is no longer available.
We've used it for beach and mountain camping and ski trips to Mammoth. Our travel plans have changed and it isn't getting the use it deserves, so it's time for it to go to someone who will. 19,500 miles. Located in south Orange County, California.
Factory equipment: The factory specs are at the bottom of this listing. Along with the built-ins it comes with an induction stove that can be easily placed indoors or on the outdoor drop-down table. The Thetford cartridge black water tank is remarkably easy to empty out with no mess; I usually just empty it at home down our sewer clean-out access. The Max Air fan is really efficient; weve rarely used the Coleman a/c unit, but when we have it works great too. The insulated window shades for the front windshield and side windows provide complete privacy.
The ROLEF side and rear screens factory-installed on the Revel, and ROLEF is the original designer of the magnetic side screen are my favorite feature of the whole van. Effective at keeping bugs out in summer and heat in when it's cold. Speaking of heat, the diesel heater for both the water and interior air is super-efficient, and is fueled right off the vehicles diesel tank, so no special fuel storage or topping off is needed.
Custom interior (Baltic birch, built by me): I have good carpentry skills and used the Canyon Adventure Vans Garage Lounge Storage System (GLSS) as inspiration for a custom bench, storage, and table system in 34" Baltic birch, with both adjustable shelving and lid-access storage. The dining table sits on a Lagun swivel mount so it swings out of the way when you're carrying a bike. Bench cushions were custom made to fit. The whole system is removable. It's attached to the built-in D-rings on the garage floor, so the garage returns to stock configuration without modification to the van. Even with the system in place, I've carried both mountain and road bikes, mulitiple surfboards, and even multiple 4x8 plywood panels.
Other work:
*Custom-fit Baltic birch shelving in the cabinets over the sink and the bench seat
*Additional shelving in the vertical pantry for better organization
*Custom articulating shower curtain bar that significantly enlarges the usable shower space without letting water reach the floor
*Bottle hangers, phone sleeves, flashlight mounts, and other conveniences at the bed
*Custom outdoor shower setup at the rear: curtains all around plus a showerhead mount
*Removable bike fork mount, set up for either road or mountain bike
*D-rings and sliding T-bolts on the roof crossbars for lashing down skis and other long gear
*Hitch-mounted rear step
*Solar panel and trickle charger for the chassis battery, with a quick-connect so you don't have to pull the floor panel to hook it up
*Owl Off Road Explorer side ladder lighter, sturdier, and far more convenient for roof access than the stock rear ladder.
Condition and history full disclosure
In 2024 I backed into a parking stall roof in a snowstorm damaging the stock rear ladder and denting the rear door and roof edge. Cosmetic only no frame or structural damage and no leaks since. Repaired professionally at OCRV Center (insurance claim filed and invoice available). Rather than reinstall the stock ladder, I had the Owl Vans side ladder fitted instead.
There are a few touched-up scratches, including one on the front passenger fender that a professional paintless dent repair tech addressed. Otherwise the van is in excellent condition inside and out.
Service: 20,000-mile Mercedes service performed early at Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel. The tires are the original BG Goodrich T/A Tires mounted on Method wheels; tread is excellent. Stored in our driveway, usually covered as shown in pictures. No smoking and never rented out. Clean title in hand, no lien.
Full service records and all receipts are available. Pre-purchase inspection welcome at buyer's expense.
Serious inquiries only: Please do not waste your time or ours with lowball offers, were in no hurry to sell it. No trades, no shippers, no third-party payment services.
