Were very reluctantly selling this great motorhome. It has taken us across and around the country several times, and been a pleasure to drive and to live in. We bought this new in October of 2018 and have traveled around 42,000 miles so far.

Vehicle break In: When we bought the van we made sure to be even more careful about breaking it in than the manual suggested. Instead of following the recommended 600 mile break in period we made it a point to drive the first 1200 miles with no fast stops or starts, not using cruise control and carefully varying speed and rpm, etc. The engine has been outstandingly reliable and completely trouble free.

Maintenance: The vehicle has been scrupulously maintained according to the Mercedes maintenance schedule. We also replaced the stock tires with much better Michelins.  More details and service records are available.

Driving: Weve never regretted for a moment getting this vehicle.  Its about the same width as a car so weve been able to go on very narrow or overgrown roads, negotiate those endless concrete construction barriers, and endure heavy traffic without a worry.  One big reason we bought something of this is size is that we can park almost anywhere, and go into any parking lot or street and know that we can turn around or back out without a problem.  Thats a huge benefit when youre exploring new places.

Parking: Because the van is about the same width as a car we can park pretty much anywhere.  If we find pull-through parking spaces (two spaces nose to nose) we fit in there just fine, even with cars on both sides.  Thats a lot more convenient than the typical wider RVs.

Accommodations:   For three years before we retired we went to RV shows each year to research and plan, and make sure that when the time came we bought the best RV for our needs.  We made the right choice.  Despite its compact size the van has been great for trips of any length, in any part of the country.  The six foot kitchen counter is bigger than that in many much larger RVs.  The six cubic foot refrigerator/freezer has held everything weve needed and the microwave and three (!) burner propane stove make this a real kitchen.

A full wet bath doubles as a closet, and a pantry holds tons of food and other items.  The oversize TV can play videos from external drives and get dozens of channels via Roku.  We have never bothered with the TV antenna or trying to use RV park WiFi.  Using our phones as hotspots has worked perfectly.

Storage for clothing, kitchen items and more is literally incredible:  Upper cabinets on both sides and the rear, as well as over the front seats.  Several drawers below the kitchen counter.  A large storage box at the side door (it can also be used as a litter box) is next to a handy hanging show organizer.  And there are tons of storage under the platform bed, accessible from either inside the van or from the rear doors.

Modifications from Stock:

Exterior

Solar powered motion sensor security lights on each side

Reflectors on all sides

Raised engine exhaust pipe.  The stock location was too low and risked hitting curbs, etc.

New Michelin Agilis Cross Climate Tires for a much better ride

New wheel covers for all wheels (not installed yet)

Interior

Modified the dashboard pullout cup holder to provide more useful storage, including:

Small center storage bin

Standup slots for cell phones

USB charging cables for two phones

Relocated fresh water fill pipe to just inside sliding door

Cleaner, and easier and faster to fill

Added better ventilation grilles for the refrigerator

Replaced the passenger seat at the side door with a large box for storage or cat litter

This also works well as a bench or seat

Added shoe storage pockets on the bath front wall, next to the sliding door

Replaced the stock pedestal table with a folding table

          This lets us put it where we want it inside the van, and use it outside as well

Installed a wall covering windows above the kitchen counter, replacing the flimsy, noisy metal blinds

          This provides more privacy, especially when using the bath, etc.

          The wall is well insulated to provide a side of the van that can better resist the suns heat

Several coat hooks and a long towel bar in the bath allow it to also function as a closet

Created a pantry cabinet from the closet above foot of right side bed

          We never traveled with clothes that required coat hangers

          Adding several shelves provided us with a huge amount of storage for food, etc.

Upgraded the stock 24 TV to a 32 Roku TV (the largest that would fit)

Removed the stereo that was in a cabinet above the right side bed

          The stereo seemed pointless to us, since the dashboard system was fine

          Repurposing this cabinet gave us even more storage

          Dont get the idea that there wasnt enough storage.  This vehicle provides huge storage.

Built a solid wood platform bed to replace the stock foldout sofa

The sofa opened into a truly uncomfortable bed that also required daily storage of bedding

The new bed was by far the best thing we ever did.  Here are some of the benefits:

          The platform increased side to side sleeping space by a few inches

          The platform was (duh) flat and solid, and made a complete change in the quality of our sleep

Since the bed was permanent, we could leave the beds made up

This meant we didnt have to use up several cabinets to store bedding, pillows, etc

                     And the bed was extremely comfortable for sleeping or just lying around

          We were able to add many improvements that resulted in great sleep and relaxation:

          Custom foam mattresses have given us great sleep for years

          Breathable foundation mats protect each mattress from humidity

          Custom encasements protect each mattress from any moisture, stains, etc

          Custom fitted bottom sheets are easy to remove and put on

          Matching comforters can be neatened and left on the fixed bed

As important as anything else:  The huge increase in storage space under the bed. (No space on this ad to list the things we can store under the platform.)
