Monster Max is the original Boondocking Colorado adventure rig the one that helped launch the whole idea that you don't need a $200,000 adventure van to sleep beside an alpine lake, a mountain stream, or a trailhead nobody else can reach.

For six years he's done exactly that. Mountain passes. Forest Service roads. Ghost towns. Dispersed campsites most RV owners don't even know exist. Along the way he picked up thousands of YouTube followers, hundreds of happy guests, and a stack of five-star reviews not because of a marketing campaign, but because he actually delivers the thing he promises.

You've probably been looking at overland builds or premium adventure vans and running the math. By the time you buy the rig, add lithium, wire in solar, lift the suspension, upgrade the tires, and spend a year of weekends dialing it all in, you're two or three years and tens of thousands of dollars deep and still not sure it'll all work together when you're forty miles from pavement.

Monster Max skips that entire process. He's already built, already tested, and already proven not on a bench, but on six years of real Colorado trips.

About the Suspension:

IMPORTANT 4X4 CLARIFICATION: Monster Max is NOT 4x4. We considered doing a full 4x4 conversion early in the build, but after a lot of research and six years of real-world experience, we never found it necessary.

Instead, we went with a 6-inch suspension lift, Skyjacker coils, Fox shocks, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and onboard rear airbags. The other huge advantage is weight: with roughly 10,000 lbs over the rear axle, Monster Max behaves a lot like a school bus in snow and loose terrainthere's a tremendous amount of weight sitting over the drive wheels.

The result? He has bulldozed through everything we've thrown at him over six years of Colorado backroads, dispersed camping, snow, dirt, mud and rough Forest Service roads.

So, does Monster Max have a full 4x4 drivetrain? No.

Have I ever gotten him stuck in six years of taking him places most RVs have no business going? Also no.

If I were going to make one additional traction upgrade, I'd probably add an inexpensive rear locker. But after six years without getting stuck, I've simply never had enough reason to do it. Bottom line: If you specifically need 4x4, Monster Max isn't 4x4. If what you actually need is a compact, lifted, proven boondocking rig capable of getting you deep into the backcountry, his six-year track record speaks for itself.

About the miles:

Monster Max has 100,000 miles on him (FYI: This is a Canadian vehicle, so the odometer is in Kilometers), and we're not going to bury that. Here's the context that matters: he's been fleet-maintained his entire life. We scheduled every service; there were no gaps or "I think we changed the oil at some point." Complete maintenance records are available to the buyer. Those miles aren't wear from sitting unused or getting neglected between owners. They're six years of Boondocking Colorado trips, documented on video, backed by paperwork. You're not buying a mystery. You're buying a rig that's been worked, and worked on, the right way the whole time.

What makes him different

Every upgrade on this rig was added to solve a real problem on a real trip, not to look good at an RV show. WeldTec suspension lift. Fox shocks. Aggressive all-terrain tires. A 400Ah lithium battery bank with solar and DC-to-DC charging so you're never chasing hookups. A custom front bumper. Generator backup for when you need it. All of it built around one goal: get you further off the grid than a standard rig can go, and keep you comfortable once you're there.

At just 19 feet, he's easy to drive, parks in a normal spot, and gets into places a bigger rig never will. Inside, you get a queen bed over the cab, a rear dinette that converts into a second sleeping area, a full wet bath with shower and toilet, and a complete kitchen: stove, fridge, the works. Small footprint, real capability. That combination is the whole point of Monster Max, and it's harder to find than people think.

He rides on the Ford E-Series chassis, so parts and service are available nationwide no boutique-van scavenger hunt when something needs attention. The coach was built by Adventurer in Canada, then properly imported, titled, and registered in the U.S. Clean paperwork, no gray-market questions.

Why this matters more than it sounds like it should

A price guide can tell you what a stock motorhome is worth. It can't tell you what six years of real-world refinement is worth, or what it means that the off-grid electrical system has already been proven under load, on mountain roads, in guest hands, hundreds of times over. That track record is the part you can't shortcut, and it's the part you're actually paying for.
