Why We Bought Lizzy

My husband and I had always admired Airstreams and often said that if we ever owned a travel trailer, it would be an Airstream.

During the first few years of retirement, we explored National Parks by staying in Airbnbs and VRBOs. Along the way, we realized how much beauty there is throughout our own state of Oregon. As we planned more adventures, we realized that many of the places we wanted to visit didn't have nearby lodging but they did have campgrounds and boon-docking opportunities.

When we discovered the Basecamp 20X REI Special Edition, we knew it fit our adventuring needs perfectly. Its compact size, rugged off-road capability, factory solar and lithium package, and thoughtful design gave us the freedom to explore places we otherwise couldn't have stayed.

We named her Lizzy, and she has taken us on memorable adventures throughout Oregon and beyond.

Life took another positive turn this year when we purchased our mountain cabin, big enough for our entire extended family and fiends. Our adventure priorities have shifted, so wedecided its time for Lizzy to begin her next adventure with new owners.



Adventure Ready

Lizzy has been carefully maintained throughout our ownership and is fully functional and ready to travel.

She has been stored on a gravel pad beside our shop, protected by a six-foot privacy fence. During the winter months she remained connected to shore power with a thermostatically controlled heater maintaining the interior between approximately 45° and 55°F, and a passive dehumidifier was used during storage to help control interior moisture.

Everything works as it should, and the trailer is ready to hitch up and head out on your next adventure.
