Description
This van started its life as a Revel but has been completely upgraded and outfitted and is ready to go for years to come. The 2022 Winnebago Revel is a Class B motorhome designed for adventure seekers looking for a compact yet capable vehicle. With 43,800 miles on the odometer, this Revel (trim: BMB44EC-1) is still relatively new and ready for many more miles of exploration. Winnebago is known for its quality craftsmanship and innovative designs, and the Revel is no exception.
The 45 gallon fuel tanks allows the heat to run for weeks during the cold NE winters, and allows longer between stops when driving (500 plus miles). Back seat is a DOT seat custom built by Overland Designbuild in Arvada, CO.
Upgrades: (I know they might not matter, but they make it awesome to use):
Erik Carver at https://www.overlanddesignbuild.com in Arvada, Colorado, did most of the upgrades on van:
1. Rear bench seat upgrade by DesignBuild Overland in Colorado, car seat compatible (metal brackets for quick clip in), high-quality work. Under-seat storage, and rework of all plumbing converted to stainless steel fittings and piping.
2. Plumbing upgrade: 27 gallon freshwater, tank, full plumbing replacement, with all hoses and fittings converted to brass, with lines to braided stainless steel. Thermostatic shower valve replacement, a new faucet, a new plumbing center with a 25' hose, and water pump and drain pump switches at the sink now. To winterize just empty the tank and run the faucets, then use the onboard air compressor and the adapter filter Erik built for it. No need to use RV antifreeze (Poison) in your water system.
3. Van compass adjustable suspension upgrade, with fender flares. 3 settings for front and rear suspension for offloading to fast highway driving with a lot of wind.
4. Crossbars and gear on top of the van.
5. Side ladder installed with surfboard bar (I have the loops for you, just are no longer installed).
6. 45-gallon fuel tank for extended run time on the heater and while driving.
7. Brand New owl wheels and Falken tires. Only downside: The front tires rub when the wheel is fully cranked, however it should wear out of that soon. I opted out of the "lift kit" so a small part of the tread needs to be worn down to elininate the rub.
8. Battery and alternator replacement: 15k Roamrig full upgrade of the battery system and alternators, including replacement of switches and control panels in van. Now the system actually works and is immensely simpler to operate. Baseplus battery system with an extra battery added a couple of years ago. It includes a 3000-watt inverter so coffee machines etc can run.
9. Softstart AC switch installed; otherwise, the factory AC didn't work.
10. Drawer extensions to cabinets so they can be fully used.
11. Big Gulp infrared water filter and purification system installed. Fresh drinking water all the time! Easy to winterize (remove the filter cartridge under the sink for winter).
12. Onboard 12 volt air compressor.
13. Remote starter by Mid City Engineering. Works through the key or the DroneMobile app.
14. Owl van bumper step.
15. OwlVan Sherpa and B2 rear door gear haulers for bikes, ski boxes etc etc.
16. Fully insulated foil added for sound deadening to the floor, doors, sides of the van, etc (by Erik at overlanddesignbuild in Colorado.
17. Rearview camera plug in modification and new mount to give a better rear view that works while driving!
18. Counter top extension.
19. Laguna table that attaches to the rear bench and front. Works great! See pictures.
20. Rear bench seat with bungee and drawer compartments, from Erik but built by Rigwell.
21. Custom sliding window installed in the sliding door, complete with screen.
22. Flip-down step to access the elevator bed by Canyon adventure vans.
This van is dialed in, it's still used daily but is ready for new owners. We would like a van that can sleep 4 more comfortably.
I've probably forgotten a few other items.
Previous Damage to van in our 44k miles of use:
1. Mother in law was driving van when new, and got Side swiped at slow moving traffic circle 4 years ago at a slow speed in traffic circle. professionally rebuilt at Hollis Autobody in MA.
2. A metal bar on the Owl van rack is starting to rust; Owl sent a replacement part under warranty, I will install it and update pictures.
3. Small outward dent at rear passenger door caused by the door blowing closed on ski pole (see picture- paint smooth, no crease or broken paint).
4. Driver's side step dented. It will be touched up with paint.
As we ge the van cleaner I will try to update photos, however we use the van daily still.
