Description
Get ready to go camping in style and comfort (AKA glamping). My wife & I have had many memorable adventures in this well appointed RV. We have traveled across most of the USA and seen a good bit of the beauty thats out there just waiting to be enjoyed. Whether it is at a campground with hookups or boondocking in a secluded forest setting, this motorhome is ready to provide just about all of the comforts of home. It has been de-winterized including sanitization of the fresh water tank. It is ready for many more fun outings!
This 2007 Pleasure-Way Plateau TS is based on the 2006 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 chassis (also known as the T1N). The great thing about this Mercedes model is it is known for its relative simplicity and reliability. It does not require the use of DEF and is economical (averaging 21-25 MPG). It is small and nimble enough to use as a second vehicle. I purchased it in February 2021 with about 66,000 miles on the odometer. Since acquiring it, I have upgraded the coach's electrical system with a 200ah AGM battery, 200 watts of solar, a solar charge controller, and a charger/inverter with the ability to charge lithium batteries. I also installed a diesel heater that feeds directly from the Sprinters fuel tank. It provides abundant heat and consumes very little electricity and fuel. I added an accumulator tank to reduce water pump noise. I replaced the propane detector and CO monitor. I also replaced the galley sink faucet with a taller one. Last August, I replaced all 4 tires with all-terrain Vredesteins.
Routine maintenance has been done and everything works as it should with the exception of two features:
The van came equipped with an additional heater that was supposed to provide heat soon after starting the engine - but it never worked for me so I repurposed its fuel line for the diesel heater I installed in the rear.
And the rear suspension air bags (especially on the drivers side) lose air when the temps drop below freezing. They can be re-inflated and will operate normally after a short while.
The exterior is in fair shape (could use some TLC). The interior shows signs of wear but is so well built and designed one could easily fall in love with its aesthetic. All of the RV related appliances function as they should. The rooftop A/C blows cold and contains a heat strip. The awning takes a little "persuasion" to get it unfurled but once opened it provides a generous amount of shade and shelter. The original manuals are included with the coach.
Note to potential buyers: the van will be used for camping and running chores until it is sold. Therefore, expect to find cabinets and drawers full of personal items which will be removed upon sale.
