Description
The Kimbo Series 6 is a premium slide in truck camper. I ordered, purchased, and picked this one up myself in Bellingham, WA in Spring of 2023. I lived in it full time until the summer of 2024. Since then, I've been living with my partner and I have new priorities. Would like to sell this camper and start a new chapter in my life.
I specifically chose the Kimbo for a few essential reasons:
I can close my tailgate (6 foot bed). My truck's OEM backup camera is built into the tailgate. Since I can close it, I get to keep my backup camera.
It's cozy! The interior walls are all modular panels of foam with soft upholstery. And the shape of the camper has a comfy spaceship feeling. There's plenty of little storage nooks and it was easy for me to add some home comforts, including a nice new mattress in Spring of 2024. (less than 200 sleeps on it too)
This model is equipped with some factory upgrades that made it home too. Solar powered lights, maxxair fan, and a dometic fridge with freezer. There's also a propane fireplace that keeps it toasty in the winter time. I've comfortably slept in this thing in below 0 (farenheit) weather!
Another favorite reason why I bought this camper, the windows are excellent, with built in screens and blackout shades! The really big one by the bed is fun to look at the stars from as you fall asleep.
BEFORE YOU BUY:
You must have a pickup truck that is prepared for this load. With all your stuff loaded in and ready, this thing weighs roughly 1200 pounds. For reference, I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma and I upgraded the suspension with an OME (Old Man Emu brand) heavy suspension kit, plus a set of airbags. All this together amounted to just under 2k. Chances are, if you're looking at buying this kind of camper, you already have a solid pickup truck you're thinking of putting it on, and probably a good set of tires too. Still, I highly recommend you check with a local vehicle outfitter for advice on this. That's what I did!
If you live in Western North Carolina, I suggest Asheville Vehicle Outfitters to prepare your vehicle for this camper.
Currently, this camper is still strapped to my truck so it will be difficult to properly show it for potential buyers. However, I am working on finding a space to safely remove it and strap it down so you can take a better look before buying it. This will also make it easier to put it on your truck after purchase.
Thank you!
