This is the holy grail, a 2002 Ford Sportsmobile E350 RB50 4X4 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel ordered in “Brilliant Silver Metallic”. Arguably the lowest mileage 7.3L power stroke Sportsmobile in existence, and definitely the lowest mileage 7.3L Sportsmobile on the market, having only 49,497 Carfax certified miles. It is also the “RB Shorty”, maintaining a conventient length of only 17ft, making it the premium choice for off-road travel. Sportsmobile, originally founded in Texas by Curtis and Charles Borskey as Sportswagons, has specialized  in off road overland vehicles and offering them to the public market since 1961. There determination to quality, versatility, and originality, has provided them an international market share. Private, official, and commercial clients, recognize Sportsmobile as the leading pioneer in overland vehicle engineering. As part of the “Humanitarian Mission to the World”, Qatar entrusted Sportsmobile to engineer 17 Emergency Relief Vehicles (ERV’s) set exclusively on the Ford chassis to serve as search and rescue vehicles, they were transported via C-130 cargo planes. Today, Sportsmobile has three sales and manufacturing plants and are still the forefront in off road advancement. While their sales, reputation, and market share have exploded over the years, they still maintain the same quality control standard they have set during their humble beginnings. This particular model presented is arguably one of, if not the most prominent build designed by Sportsmobile, and it has been impeccably well kept. It is set on the world renowned Ford E350 chassis which, unfortunately, seized production in 2015. Sportsmobile tried to retain the classic Ford Sportsmobile aesthetic by using a Ford cutaway platform and a molded fiberglass shell, but nothing matches the original Ford Econoline Eclipse platform for the off-road experience and the look making this rare, well-preserved Quigley 4x4 7.3L Power Stroke build on the Shorty frame with exceptionally low mileage an especially uncommon find. Sportsmobile’s newer “classic-style” version is currently on backorder at a starting price of $250,000, and those builds do not come diesel. This unit is one of the latest models available with the 7.3L Powerstroke diesel motor as that option was only offered up until 2003. Completed by Ford Motor Company on the first of June, 2002. Sportsmobile then integrated the well known Quigley 4X4 system, one of the most prominent off road conversion companies known in the industry. It was then shipped to Sportsmobile West in Fresno California where the final conversion was completed. The aforementioned combination is commonly recognized to dominate its competition in practicality, versatility, maneuverability, as well as other divisions. No expense was spared on this rig, it was ordered with one of Sportsmobile’s most popular floor-plan with a walk through layout, making it very easy to haul toys like surfboards, canoes, or bikes etc. Looking at the options available on this unit, it is clear that this trend setter was designed to facilitate ambition, and adventure.
