Description

1997 Allegro Bus Diesel Pusher Renovated Project $22,000

Ive owned this coach for a while and put a lot into it, but our family has grown and we need something with more sleeping space. This started as a project and now its at a point where someone else can take it the rest of the way and really enjoy it.

Its a 1997 Allegro Bus with a CAT diesel (pre-emissions), which is honestly one of the best parts of the whole rig. It runs strong and has taken us on multiple long trips Washington, South Carolina, Ohio twice and never left us stranded. Ive also towed an F-150 with a motorcycle in the bed.

Most of the upgrades and work were done in 20222023, and Ive put over $35k into it. A lot of the heavy lifting is already done.

Whats been done
New flooring throughout
Interior updated (painted cabinets, new hardware, much brighter feel)
Kitchen refresh with newer fridge + microwave/oven combo
New dining chairs
New coach + engine batteries
Steering stabilizer, motion control units, upgraded rear sway bar (drives much better than stock)
Flex Seal roof coating
Electric awning installed (just needs power run to it)

What still needs attention
Trying to be upfront so you know exactly what youre getting:

Generator can be a little finicky to start, once its running, it runs great. Seems electrical, but I never fully tracked it down. I have taken it to a profession on 2 different occasions with no luck.
Heater fan isnt working
Dash A/C works but usually needs to be recharged about once a year
Windshield is slightly out of the gasket (common issue on these older Allegros). This started when the front corner was dipping from an air suspension issue, which I repaired. It hasnt gotten worse and is currently sealed, but should eventually be fixed properly
Some small unfinished odds and ends from the remodel

The honest take
This isnt a perfect turnkey motorhome. Its a solid older diesel bus with a lot already invested into it and a strong, simple drivetrain. Its ideal for someone who wants a nicer older rig without starting from scratch and doesnt mind finishing a few things.

If youre looking for brand new and flawless, this isnt it.
If you want something with character, a great engine, and a big head start, its a really good setup.

Clean title in hand.
