Description
Hey there from Utopia Texas.
Think about this first....
Our trailer is only $11,750 A used 2024 Lance 1685 is selling for $52,000 on RV Trader, That's over $40,000 more for basically the same trailer.
Same square footage,
same number of slide outs,
same amount of storage,
same number of axles,
same number of tires, of a/c units,
same size bed,
same size bathroom,
everything is basically the same expect for the color schemes and materials used. The one thing they did shrink is the nice large panoramic window over the bed. It's a tiny little thing now. Why give anyone that much money when you can basically have the same experience for so much less. Certainly, you don't want to give the RV dealer additional monies. They made their money when it was sold the first time. Have you heard the horror stories of underhanded salesman, warranty issues being pushed back 2-3 months. RV dealerships are one rung lower that car dealerships. Save your money, from interest payments, from outrageous inflated prices and buy a trailer that has pretty much exhausted the depreciation cycle.
My wife and I bought this from a friend about 2 years ago with the intention of using it during our retirement. We took one trip to Cloudcroft NM and another to the Davis Mountains State park in Texas. Both trips we towed with our Toyota Tundra with no strain and no issues.
The kitchen equipment includes a full-size Keurig that fits nicely in the overhead compartment and has its own plug.
The trailer is very gently used and hasn't been smoked in. Everything works fine and is in good order except the screen on the vent in the bathroom. I haven't messed with it because it doesn't affect me as we didn't use the fan. $25 max for a new screen.
The trailer comes with an equalizer hitch which worked great with our two trips.
The trailer is also equipped with a rear facing camera that is extremely useful in backing situations as well as seeing behind the trailer while driving down the road.
The trailer has an outside gas grill that attaches to the side of the trailer and hooks up to the propane outlet of the trailer, located directly beneath the grill. It's a great addition if you don't want to hassle with your own gas grill and the propane bottles or charcoal. It does need a propane hose as we never found it when we purchased the trailer.
There is lots of storage and everything is laid out well.
There is a youth bed above the main bed, but we only used it for clothes storage. When not in use, it just folds up and looks like an upper cabinet, which can be used as such if you would rather.
It's been towed less than 1700 miles in the last two years and used twice for a total of 7 days.
We are selling because we realize we would rather stay at Airbnb or hotels while we are on the road.
Research for yourself but the older Lance trailers are head and shoulders above the rest of the brands, especially those Lance trailers that came out during the surge of RV buying during the pandemic. This trailer in particular was built before any Third-Party equity firm started pushing for short cuts also
Remember that if you are new to RVing it's important to start out with less of a financial exposure until you are sure you love it.
We hope you think ours is the one for you...it is priced lower than other Lance trailers around the same year.
Good luck on your hunt for the perfect trailer and God Bless.
