Description
This is an RV that can take you places others can't. You don't have to stop when the pavement ends. The Dynamax is known to be a quality unit and the aftermarket addition of big tires and Single Wheel Conversion make it that much better. Higher ground clearance simply lets you pass over the drop off where pavement ends and a desolate form of an old road begins. Ground clearance afforded by the 4" suspension lift and 41" tires allows climbing over crests and navigating deep ruts. On the trail, the LiquidSpring suspension and large diameter, lower pressure tires eat up the bumps. This unit can explore the rough roads without knocking your teeth out or sending the turntable flying out of the microwave! Not to mention, when you get there, you've got almost three times the amount of interior space as a $500,000 dollar Overland vehicle. The full wall slide out is huge.
This unit was built up about the same time that the Dynamax factory began offering the Extreme package. The Extreme is the same chassis (Ram 5500), same suspension, same tires and wheels, and nearly the same bumper. Major differences in the Extreme is 4 wheel drive and has 800 watts of solar where this one is 200 watts and 2wd. In the vast majority of situations, these units never use 4wd. It's the ground clearance and ride quality that get you off the beaten path. Long dusty roads where the wagon trains drove don't require four wheel drive. And then the most critical point, the price. The price of an Extreme seems to bottom out at $270,000 and there are essentially none on the used market.
This offers coach nearly the same capability - the same amount of adventure - as a $270,000 unit but for $105,000 less. Coaches like this are tough to find. This one was built as a demo unit by Buckstop Truckware in 2024. Buckstop manufactures and provides all of the bumpers, fenders, wheels and tires to the Dynamax factory for their Extreme model units. The upfit with LiquidSpring suspension, wheels and tires, paint-match fender flares, aluminum bumper, off-road lights, and running boards runs about $50,000 on it's own.
Tons of power - set the cruise at 73 mph and go all day up and down hill. It's great passing cars on the hills. Another cool benefit is the LiquidSpring Tru Earth levelling. In a few seconds, you can level the coach with the touch of a button. It works through the suspension and doesn't require any interface with emergency brake, key on, key off, entry step, door half open, hold your mouth just right... kidding, but it levels super fast and with ease.
