Description

Hello. My name is Carol Koon and I am located at the Belmont RV Park in Belmont MS. I have this beautiful Phaeton here and it is for sale. It belonged to a wonderful couple who traveled with it all over this great Nation. They saw all 48 contiguous states in the motorhome. It was a wonderful motorhome for the two of them. Sadly, he passed a few months ago and she cannot operate the motorhome by herself. So, we have it for sale. This motorhome is so great. It is a 2008 model so NO DEF. There is a wonderful record of maintenance for this coach. And she has prepared a letter for you all that I would like to post here. Included in this coach is a treasure trove of extra parts...there's just about anything that you can think of there. Please do not hesitate to reach out if this coach is something that interests you.

Scott and Clare's 2008 Tiffin Phaeton 40QSH.
We Bought it from a private individual in Madison, MO, in May 2018 who
only used it to go back and forth to Florida once a year. We
Immediately took it to Red Bay to have everything checked out and all
fluids and filters changed on the Freightliner engine. And we have done
that yearly or every 10K miles since.
We have been to every 48 contiguous states and two Canadian Provinces.
She performed flawlessly. On one Rocky Mountain trip, she blew the
original engine water pump and we had it replaced in Durango, Colorado,
along with the thermostat.
The original starter went out two years ago, and it was replaced. That is
THE EXTENT of problems that I can remember.
Scott kept a maintenance and upgrade log of everything that was ever done
to our beloved coach.
In August 2025 we had the two captain chairs recovered by Waylon
Burroughs.
In 2022 we had the garden tub replaced with a solid surface with tile
floor walk in shower in Ormond Beach, Florida by Classic Coachworks.
Almost $10K but well worth it.
Daniel Humphries replaced the single washer/dryer combination with an
Equator Washer and Dryer. MS RV Solutions (Daniel Humphries) resealed
roof and installed a new skylight. He also replaced all the seals and
installed luxury vinyl tile in the bedroom.
We replaced the pull-out mattress sofa with electric double recliner with
center console in 2025.
In 2019, we replaced the leaky Sleep Number mattress with a very
comfortable King Latex mattress. We did not want to go with the saggy
Memory Foam.
For safety reasons, we always replaced the tires before they reached the
5-year mark. It has Toyo tires on it now; we had Michelins but felt the
Toyo gave us a better ride.
We had the Safe=T=Plus steering installed in Tallapoosa, Alabama at their
main office. Also had MCUs and Bell Crank installed. Scott was all
about safety and maintenance.
The Front and Back ACs have both been replaced and the dash air
completely overhauled at Bay Diesel.
It has a Kenwood Blue Tooth Radio that connects to our phones. It has a
forward-facing camera on the windshield and a New Garmin GPS. We had a
Magellan GPS that was about 5 years old but decided we liked the newer
Garmin better and purchased it. We have a new backup camera screen still
in the box that Scott had intended to replace the screen that is there
now. Not that the screen that is there now is bad, but Scott wanted to
replace it anyway. He never got the chance.
The light over the dining table was replaced in 2020 with LED light. All
the ceiling lights have been replaced by the nice wooden puck lights that
Chris Berry Makes. He also built two matching lights for under the
counters in the galley.
The cooktop has been replaced with an induction cooktop. All induction
cooking ware will be conveyed with the coach. The sink faucet was
replaced three years ago with an integrated sprayer.
The Microwave was replaced two years ago by Daniel with a Stainless Steel
Sharp Microwave/Convection oven. The refrigerator was replaced by Daniel
with a French Door style Whirlpool.
The levelers were replaced in 2021 with the Big Foot Leveling system.
One of the best changes we have made other than the shower.
All three tvs have been replaced with by Chris Berry with Roku Smart
TVs. Chris also built in a cabinet with two shelves for storage under
the bedroom tv and put in slide out trays in the cabinets over the king-
sized bed. Wooden grilled covers were built by Chris Berry to cover the
ceiling fan openings. The interior cabinet walls, including the closet
have been lined with the thermal bubble wrap for extra cooling and
warmth.
The original headlamps have been replaced, along with the rear
taillights.
The Blue Ox that we bought new in 2018, was replaced in 2023 by a much
better style and Roadmaster brand from E-Trailer in Wentzville, Missouri.
Scott added better and much brighter backup lights under the rear of the
motorhome. He also added remote Boogie lights under the motorhome.
We added an awning over all the side windows except the driver and
passenger windows and of course, not on the slide out windows. We had
custom Magna Shades made to fit the Windshield, The drivers window, the
passenger window and the entry door window.
The toilet was replaced (cant remember the date but its in the
maintenance log). The spring lift for the king-sized bed storage was
replaced with a stronger one.
Scott washed and waxed the coach twice a year himself with deionized
water and once a year it went to Red Bay for that service. He treated
the roof with 303 twice a year. Even after his heart attack and open
heart surgery, he insisted on going up there for that.
Scott also added a water softener to help when we are at parks with awful
tasting and hard water.
John Bohannan replaced the original inverter with the much more powerful
Magnum pure sine wave inverter. He installed the WIFI Hughes Auto Former
and the WIFI RV Whisper in the electrical bay. House were replaced in
July 2024 and the Starter batteries were replaced on January 21,2026.
Scott was all about having good reliable power.
The windows that were cloudy have been fixed, and the three big windows
in the main cabin have been replaced with new factory windows, as was the
bathroom window and the little doggie window in the entry door.
All of the recalls were taken care of and there are records with Tiffin
Motorhomes of all those.
He also installed a remote WIFI keypad lock that is easily removable if
not wanted. We have had Ricky McGee (ProFinishes in Belmont, MS near Red
Bay, AL) repaint the top ends paint where the wind rubs the paint thin.
All maintenance and upgrades are recorded in his maintenance log with
receipts.
Im sure I have forgotten some things because Scott was all about making
our coach as comfortable and as safe as possible. He was a retired
nuclear electrician in the US Navy on submarines, and later retired from
his job as an International Industrial Maintenance Consultant.
I hope whoever buys our coach will give her (we called her Amber) as
much love and attention as we have done since May 2018.
