Description
This is our RV, which we named "Blanche". We bought her in April 2024. She is our fourth RV, and the best one we've had. We live in Evansville, Indiana, and have driven her to the east coast, to the Northwest, and up in to Canada around Lake Superior. We have a park model in Florida, where we stay over the winter, and she has been our "daily driver" on two occasions.
The best thing about her is how easy she is to drive, maneuver and park. Two of our earlier RVs were class Bs, and neither of them could be used like Blanche. Short shopping trips are a snap. I was initially concerned that the drivers seat might be too upright, but that wasn't the case for me.
Both front seats turn around to serve as seating when stopped. There's a pull out table for the person in the drivers seat.
But we bought her for long trips, and for that she's perfect. Good gas mileage... good ride... doesn't get blown around by passing semis... small enough to park in a standard parking space. She's a 2023 model on a 2022 Ram chassis. She's got all the technology that I want, and not so much that I can't use it.
The beds are great... we sleep better in them than we do at home. It doesn't have a lot of storage, but what storage it has (underbed, overhead, two drawers in the bath, two drawers in the kitchen, and a closet) is well thought out, and we've made it work.
The house part of the rig has all the standard amenities (frig, microwave, stovetop, sink). The windows are an upgrade, and the window screens, for both the windows and the doors, work well. The water heater is a "Truma", which both heats water and provides cabin heat. It's powered by propane.
She has a very quiet Onan generator that runs on gas, and Maxxair ventilator fan. She has factory-installed solar panels that charge the house battery, and plug ins for additional solar panels if desired. The air conditioner works well, and while it's not quiet, it's not as loud as the old fashioned ones we had in earlier rigs. There's a nifty awning that deploys smoothly, and will take itself in in a high wind. It has a couple of upgrades to make sure it can't come out driving down the road.
The commode and the shower are in the back. Taking a shower is a bit cramped, but doable. The rig can be configured to allow private outside showers as well, although we've never used it. We've had no problems with the plumbing. The control panel in the back for all the water controls is very well thought out and easy to use.
The engine has been serviced regularly. I think there's some drive train warranty left, and one pre-paid oil change! (don't know if it's transferrable). The generator needed work early on, but was repaired under warranty. The only ding that she has suffered is damage to the left front wheel well, incurred when backing out of a site. It was professionally repaired.
When I orginally posted this, Blanche was in Florida with us. We have returned to Evansville, Indiana, and that is where she is now. When we're not using her, we store her under roof.
There are several items of original equipment that we left in Indiana, since we weren't going to use them this past winter. They include a bike rack, fold-out table, a custom screen for the front window, a kit to convert the front seat to a child's bed, and an extra shelf for the bathroom closet. Some of these items we've never used. The bike rack, which we have used extensively, does not show in the pics. It is a well designed accessory.
I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE WAY RV TRADER WORKS. SINCE I LISTED THIS ON APRIL 6TH, I HAVE RECEIVED MORE THAN A DOZEN INQUIRIES, BUT SOME OF THEM MAY HAVE BEEN DELETED, AND I DIDN'T SEE THE REST UNTIL A FEW DAYS AGO. THAT IS BECAUSE RV TRADER'S MESSAGES WERE LANDING IN MY PROMOTIONS INBOX (NOT SOMETHING I CHECK OFTEN). I'VE REPLIED TO AS MANY AS I'VE FOUND, BUT I BELIEVE I MAY HAVE MISSED SEVERAL. I WILL BE MORE DILIGENT GOING FORWARD. (IF YOU HAVE MADE AN INQUIRY RECENTLY, YOU MAY WANT TO CHECK YOUR PROMOTIONS INBOX ALSO). ONCE WE CONNECT, WE MAY WANT TO CONTINUE DISCUSSIONS BY PHONE OR TRADITIONAL EMAIL.
