Description

Meticulously maintained with just under 72,000 miles. V6, 6 spd manual transmission. Transferable bumper-bumper warranty, good through mid Sep. All maintenance records and build receipts maintained in a digital file.

This is a one-of-a-kind (only one in the world) custom Jeep camper utilizing an Ursa Minor J30 Pop-Top with removable composite loft panels, allowing a complete open ceiling while inside the rear of the Jeep. To my knowledge, this might be the only other J30, besides Dan Grecs, that has this open concept. The top has adjustable roof rack tracks, a convenience power package, passenger side awning mounts, and map pockets above the cab area.

This was built by an aviation technician with 20+ years in the aviation/aerospace industry. The primary goal was to build a strong, lightweight, off-road capable vehicle that was also comfortable as a shelter from the elements and stayed below the GVWR when fully loaded for adventure. Additionally, it needed to fit in a standard garage/storage container. The finished weight of the vehicle is 4,650 lbs (this subtracts the weight of the 150# driver). The GVWR is 5700 lbs. The height of the complete build is 6 8.

All components and materials were carefully selected. The interior tub of the vehicle was first coated with Kevlar coating before adding insulation. The interior cabinets and floor were framed with 80/20 square aluminum tubing, then covered with Carbon Core honeycomb composite. The floor and bench/cabinet tops are coated with raptor liner for maximum durability. The hatches and doors all have marine grade latches and hardware.

The loft comfortably sleep 2 adults. Its 7 x 4 at the widest part in the rear. It currently has 2.5 cushions, but Im including a custom 3 cushion cover set with the sale. It is unique in that the 3 composite reinforced loft panels and bed cushions are removable and stow above the cab when in living room mode. This allows 4 adults to set on the benches (though 2 is preferable). Though I didnt use it, a stow-able Lagun table is included.

Storage compartments are under the floor where the passenger footwell was, inside L/R cabinet benches, and under the rear floorboard near the tailgate. I found this to be very sufficient for 2 people. I left the center isle open to allow living space and also have space for 2 bicycles if desired. They fit without removing the front wheels. Also, in a pinch, one could sleep in this center isle, using the bed cushions, but the length is only 67 inches.

Both the loft and downstairs have LED lighting and USB A+C plug-ins. This is a 12V system - no inverter. The Jeep does have a factory inverter with a 110V plug-in on the center console for low wattage electronics. A Cascadia 4x4 100w solar panel is mounted on the hood - its tough as nails - and there is also an external plug-in for a portable solar panel. A Renogy 50AH battery, charged from the vehicle through a 30A DC/DC charger w/MPPT powers the fridge, lights, and chargers. The electrical system is neatly tucked under the passenger seat.

My dream was to take this rig down the Pan American highway, but life happened. I would love to see it still do that trip, and I think it would be perfect for two people. I chose the 6 speed manual transmission because they are easier to service throughout the world, and it gives the option to roll-start. The fuel economy is pretty near the factory specs. I have achieved as good as 21 MPG on the highway, but average between 18-19 MPG under variable conditions on the highway. The Jeep is very light and nimble.
