Incidents / Known Issues
Rear-Corner - a car slid into the back left bumper. Professionally repaired by a Mercedes-certified repair shop, better than new. (2019)
Transmission Failure - 52000 miles. Unknown reason, suspected overheating. Replaced by a Mercedes dealer. New Transmission is still under warranty.
Backed into fence - back right corner - small dent remains - barely visible
Paint chipping - screws from inside pushing against the external wall. The screws did not penetrate the exterior wall, but the pressure caused paint to chip in 4 places. Covered with PPF. (2023)
Transfer Case failure. The transfer case shaft broke while offroading on a beach in Baja, Mexico. Shaft replaced. No issues since. (February 2025)
MaxAir fan only powers to 40%. This relates to older MaxAir designs intended for pre-lithium battery voltages.
