Freightliner chassis with a Caterpillar 3126 diesel engine (7.2 liters…300 horsepower)!  It just does not get better than that, right? Remarkable durability, excellent performance, and better fuel economy than a gasoline engine.  There’s a real world chance that this powertrain can go a million miles!

In fact, not long ago a Class A that we sold got tragically totaled in an accident. Our customer sold JUST the Caterpillar engine, to the salvage yard that towed his class A after the accident, for $10,000! Obviously, the salvage yard expected to sell the engine for a profit! Wow!

In 1999 money, this Class A was $159,860!  

As you can see in the photos, this Southwind has a slide out that makes the interior very spacious! 

The inside is high end with real, tongue and groove hardwood and leather.

The overall condition of this rig is amazing, considering its age. 

And, it is simply gorgeous inside! We’ve seen motorhomes a third the age of this one that were not as nice. Not “like new”, but still surprisingly nice!
