Description

The Thor Motor Coach Four Winds Hurricane 31D is a Class A motorhome that offers luxury and comfort for your travels. With a 2006 model year and only 32,777 miles on the odometer, this RV is ready to hit the road and take you on your next adventure. The Four Winds Hurricane is known for its high-quality construction and attention to detail, making it a reliable choice for long trips or weekend getaways.

This is not your normal 2006 RV. Lots of upgrades makes this a unique find. Just this year we poured ten-thousand dollars from a high quality RV shop into one of the most important elements of an older RV, the upper shell:
-New center awning and hardware
-New bump-out awnings (both)
-New skylights
-The pricey one, roof reseal on all joints.
Another 8k last year for windshield replacement and fiberglass restructuring massively increasing twist strength, which is something older RVs can have issues with because of prolonged sun and rain exposure to the front cab.

I installed:
-New high end waterproof vinyl plank flooring
-New carpet tiles in bedroom
-Custom high quality blackout curtains in the bedroom (a big plus we discovered)
-LED lighting throughout
-New copper bathroom sink (that cheap plastic had to go)
-Residential waterfall (fancy) bathroom faucet
-Residential kitchen faucet with flexible sprayer built in
-High quality backsplash kitchen and bathroom
-Upgraded heavy duty tires (4 years ago)
-New water pump (2 years ago)
-New engine battery (2 years ago)
-New wired full color back-up camera (3 years ago)
-New upgraded bluetooth/CD player (3 years ago)
-Replaced one 12volt cigarette style power slot with usb (left the other as we have a 120 watt converter we will plug into the cigarette power socket for charging laptop or things that need more juice
-Replaced a couple outlets and included one in the kitchen with usb outlets build in
-New RV battery (3 years ago)
-Generator tune-up by professional, new filter and new gas line (3 years ago). Generator only has a few hours of working time, the rest has been running for maintenance purposes- 27hrs in total!

Routine maintenance has been very thorough and consistent for entire life of RV (I have receipts). I purchased the RV 5 years ago from a trucker who was only able to put 7k miles on it due to injury. He ran the engine routinely and had annual maintenance performed religiously. I was told upon purchase when I had it inspected that it was a rare specimen to be in near mint condition but it was not left sitting which is bad for engines and mechanical parts. We love this RV and as hard as it is to let it go now that I am in school full time with an in-person internship for the next two years it's time to find this amazing RV a new family that will love and appreciate it as much as we have.

We lived in this rig full time during covid for almost two years and it was a blast! I added some custom heavy duty fold-up counter top space in the kitchen to provide more room to cook like you mean it! When parked and you have the two bump outs extended it feels spacious and cozy with all the amenities you could ever need to feel at home wherever you end up along your adventures. The refrigerator is some kind of magic frig; I'm always shocked by how much room it has! We have emptied our house frig into it and have fit everything, I seriously dont know how. Thats probably not worth writing but this is a big purchase so want to give all the info I can for you. One really nice thing about this RV in general is that the storage space is massive and well laid out. I believe this is the ideal RV for living in because of that. The bedroom separation from the main room allows for two people to work and have privacy. The bathroom creates a nice buffer with both doors still allowing each person to use the bathroom while maintaining this privacy. This has allowed us to do RV trips with friends too, giving privacy at night for two groups or families while still allowing access to the bathroom.

The engine is powerful and the handling is smooth. I have parked this bad-boy in many tight spaces with ease (well maybe not with ease, but my sweetie doubted me and it always worked out). This size is just at that edge where any bigger would compromise driving comfortably in the city or in tight RV resorts and campgrounds. This is the perfect size in my opinion to gain as much room without having to dread turning corners in busy downtown traffic. I have got pretty good at parallel parking if I may say so myself! The Thor Motor Coach Four Winds Hurricane 31D holds up pretty well with looks too- especially compared to other rigs of its similar age.

Thanks for sticking to the end here. Most importantly I wish you the best good luck possible finding your home on wheels. It's a big decision and it was one I certainly spent a lot of time researching. I encourage anybody interested in Rv'ing to go for it; it is a good investment in your wellbeing! RV life is an amazing way to experience the beauty of this country. Getting out of the city and away from all the news and technology brought our family closer together! I really enjoyed how it made us work as a team. The joy of pulling into a campground after a long day of driving and finding out that they have one more spot left is the best! Getting the campground map with your spot number on it is so exciting and when you finally pull in and shut the engine off...ah...it feels so gratifying. One person starts prepping dinner and the other goes out to hook everything up. It's so cool! (Sheeze, I'm going to talk myself out of selling this thing!)

If you have the ability and desire to RV, go for it, there is nothing like it!!
