Description
I want to preface this with we are not your typical weekend warrior RVers or even your Texas snowbird RVers (although we do know and love people who are both!) My husband has a traveling position and the family goes with so we are basically full-time RVers. The moral to that is when you're a full timer you look at things a little differently when it comes to your home on wheels. You want to love the thing since you're in it day in and day out, not melt like a popsicle or freeze to death in it and not have to worry about it falling apart from the day to day living you do it in. So with that being said, let's jump right in - are you looking for your new home away from home? Or for the adventurous - your new home on wheels! Home can be wherever you want it to be with the DRV Mobile Suites Orlando!
This lovely model was custom ordered to fit 3 rambunctious kiddos and their 2 adult handlers as comfortably as possible and give everyone as much room as possible since it's "home" and everyone needs their space and let's be honest, we aren't in the RV for the great outdoors, we are in it because it's where we live and do life and sometimes you need space to do life. Not everyone gets that (and there isn't anything wrong with being in an RV to be closer to the great outdoors - that just isn't us). And when your in 100+ degrees Texas, being outdoors just doesn't sound like a lot of fun if I say so myself... A small fur baby also helps handle or adds to the chaos depending on the day. But she is allergy friendly so you don't have to worry about any allergy aggravators being left behind! She is also never left to run free without supervision so there aren't any "I'm bored, let's chew on this" spots hiding for you to find.
Let's do a walk through starting at the back - At the very back is the full bathroom (which is right off the master suite) and it has the standards - a sink, a shower, a toilet and a bonus - lots of storage. The shower is great for tall guys (or gals!) as the bathroom has high ceilings. That also gives you tons of cupboards with lots of storage space, although if your short like me, you may need a stool to reach some of them. The countertop is spacious enough for both adults to have their stuff out or each one can have their own side cabinet for when they need to put their stuff away. The toilet is a macerator toilet which makes dumping tanks a lot easier.
Next, the adult handlers need their own space! So they get a master bedroom suite with a king bed, under and over bed storage and lots of closet space, some "counter" space on top of pull out drawers as well as a tv for hiding out from the kiddos. Or for separating the kiddos when needed, because there are days like that! There are outlets with USB plugs on both sides of the bed that were custom ordered and the RV mattress was replaced by a "residential" hybrid (springs and memory foam) king mattress. While it can make changing the sheets a little more challenging, your back will thank you!
Coming out of the back you walk into the kitchen/living room area. There is a big residential fridge, a stove, a dishwasher, a reclining loveseat, a couch with hidden storage that also has foot rests but if the love seat foot rests are out, it gets a little crowded, but it is still possible for them to all be up at once if you want! There is lots of counter/prep space and again, a ton of storage space! There is a "coffee bar" in the corner or a cupboard next to the fridge also has an outlet in it if you'd rather hid your coffee addiction. The slide out drawers in the two cupboards next to the fridge make getting to stuff in the back way easier as well!
Go past the door to the outside and up the stairs and you'll find the half bath with a residental Samsung washer and dryer, another macerator toilet and a sink with a medicine cabinet and cupboard underneath. It can be tight, but when you have more than one person who has gotta go, it's nice to have a second bathroom! It's also nice to not have to drag laundry to the laundromat if you ask me.
And at the front you will find the bunk room. The "door side" has the standard single bunk with an added outlet at the end. You might notice the handles are all missing off the pull out storage drawers under the bunk - the kiddos kept smacking their knees on them when trying to walk past someone sitting at the desk/table so we removed them. You can easily open the drawers without them, but we do have them stored in a drawer and can easily be put back on. The "off door side" is a custom ordered double bunk also with outlets at the end for a fan & charging whatever device you might have. You might notice we have curtains hung over each bunk for some privacy when wanted/needed - they are hung using command hooks and can easily be removed and you won't even be able to tell they were there! There is a tv and lots of storage around it, plenty of room for the kiddos clothes, toys and much to their dismay, their school books.
DRV is one of the highest quality built fifth wheels out there and while nothing in life is perfect, it's not likely to rattle apart while driving down the lovely back roads of Oklahoma like a certain RV brand named after a big snowslide, not that I would know from experience or anything... But seriously, do some research! It's a big purchase and you want it to last which is why we went with DRV. We love it for so many reasons from all the space you have, to the thick constructed walls, the Moryde independent suspension, keyless entry (we use this all the time!), and the In Command system which lets us control the climate over wifi when we aren't there. It also has soft close cabinets with magnetic closure, built in electric fireplace, receiver boat hitch, a built in safe, hydraulic disc brakes and hydraulic auto leveling landing gear are some of the Mobile Suites standards we love. We also have the bedding and chairs it came with, they are just stored since we don't use them.
Add ons we ordered/had done:
All 3 air conditioners were ordered as heat pump ACs (love being able to get some heat without having to use the propane!) and they also had air flow directors put on for more efficient cooling or heating.
Custom ordered fiberglass roof so there is one less thing to have to worry about maintaining every year!
Gen Y Gooseneck hitch (dealership installed) which makes a world of difference when your pulling it!
"In Command" System allows you to control the lights from your phone over bluetooth or wifi.
All slides have awning toppers.
LP Generator.
If you've made it this far, I must say I'm proud of you! ;) There's lots more to it and I'm sure I've forgotten stuff or maybe you have a question I didn't answer or want a picture of something I didn't think to include. Feel free to reach out and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you for looking!
