What non-standard equipment is included?

This Precept is equipped with an upgraded Truma tankless water heater (two years old) so you can get hot water on demand! No more "RV showers"!

Any noteworthy improvements or maintenance?

The windshield was replaced with new in 2020 and the coach has been regularly serviced (oil changes, etc.).

What's the best reason to buy this RV vs. 99% of the other listings?

I'm NOT a dealership who will nickel and dime you to maximize profit. There are zero additional unnecessary expenses. No $2000 delivery/inspection fee. I won't try to sell you a useless and worthless extended warranty. I'm just a retired US Air Force pilot and my camping needs have changed to where we no longer need to own a Class A motorhome.

Can I camp in this motorhome the night of pickup?

Absolutely! We just camped in it the night before I write this description. There are a few minor issues (see below) but its fully usable today and ready for fun times camping with your family and friends!

What is included that wouldn't come with a new motorhome?

We're including everything you need to camp. No need to buy anything like dinner plates, silverware, pots/pans, coffee machine, sewer/water hoses, freezing weather water hose (to camp when its below freezing), power cord, surge protector ($500 value), etc. I estimate what we're including will save you $2-3K+ if you don't already have the extras you need to actually use your RV.

Is there anything wrong with it?

The rear A/C isn't blowing as cold as it should. I'm pricing this into my asking price assuming the worst - a full $3000 replacement will be needed. It may turn out to be minor - if so, you come out ahead. I would just get it fixed so you don't need to think about it, but its prime camping season and most RV service centers have a 1-2-month backlog for service. The front A/C works like new and is sufficient to cool the coach. Otherwise, this coach is in great condition for its age and has been well taken care of. There are minor wear and tear items like small sections of damaged upholstery on the back of the captain's chairs from lowering the extra queen size bed, a few LED lights need replacing (owner replaceable), and some of the LED awning lights are burnt out like 99% of all modern RVs after 1 year of use. The tires may also need replacing within a few years based on their age (also priced in to my asking price).

Why are you selling it?

Short answer: we're just not using it enough. We've had RVs continuously since our 16-year-old daughter was 2 years old (14-15 years). In that time, we have enjoyed countless camping trips in Washington, Oregon, and Montana, but last year we only camped twice. The year before only 3 times. Our daughter no longer wants to camp with her "old" parents and there isn't enough opportunity for us to camp without her. It just doesn't make sense for us to hang on to a class A motorhome.

Can I finance buying through a private party seller?

Of course! Just reach out to your favorite bank or credit union. We can join you at your bank who will handle all the paperwork. I've done these many times as a buyer and as a seller. No dealer needed!

A dealer will recondition the motorhomes they sell. Why should I buy from a private seller?

Dealer "reconditioning" is really just a wash and detailing and you pay dearly for that privilege. If you look up the JD Power value of the RV you are considering you'll find the dealer is charging 10-20% above the fair retail price. If you buy from a private seller, you will save 10-20x the cost of "reconditioning".

But a dealer will take my trade in and payoff my loan. Why should I buy from a private party?

Unless you love to throw money away - you should absolutely sell your trade yourself instead of accepting pennies on the dollar from a dealer. Dealers will charge you more than fair retail for what you are buying and give you less than auction values for your trade. It's a win for them and a loss for you. Of course, dealers offer near instant gratification (save you from the trouble of selling yourself and you can drive off with your new RV in just a few weeks) - but your pocketbook suffers. If you need to sell an RV first before you can buy - yes that may take a few weeks - although you may be surprised. I've bought, traded in, and sold a half dozen RVs from travel trailers to fifth wheels, to class A motorhomes and have learned a lot. I'm taking the time to share this advice so you can learn from my mistakes and maximize your savings while still camping in luxury. Even if you choose to buy a different coach - buy from a private seller - not a dealer and save thousands.

Can I have an RV mechanic check this coach out before I buy?

Certainly. I just ask that you have the inspection set up so the coach does not need to be in service overnight.

Can I do a test drive before I commit to purchase?

Yes, with prior arrangement. Please note we store this motorhome in Sumner, WA but live about an hour away. It may only be possible for a test drive on a Saturday or Sunday. Because of the effort involved, I would prefer the test drive be the only thing holding you back from making a purchase decision. Rest assured this coach drives and camps like a dream.
