The 12V refrigerator is efficient and reliable. It has independent temperature controls for the freezer and refrigerator sections. Because it is compressor-based, there is more space inside than you will find in some older-style absorption refrigerators. Being entirely electric, it will keep your food cold whether on the road using the battery or while connected to electric service in a campground. Bring a small gas or propane-powered generator along, and you can easily boondock for several days at a time. While it does have a small solar panel on the roof, it's primarily there to top off the battery and keep the lights on and the refrigerator running when an external source of power is not available. You could easily upgrade the existing solar panel and add others to enhance your boondocking capabilities.

We are about to add a dual battery box and a second battery, which we already have on hand. You can easily take this further if you switch to lithium batteries. If you do, we recommend getting a couple of Group 24 size lithium batteries that are self-heating and have temperature protection. Several companies are now producing these. Ask if you'd like to consider doing this, and we'll gladly share what we have learned about the subject. We have a larger travel trailer in which we replaced the acid battery with a 200 Ah lithium battery that has self-heating.

In the bathroom, we installed a perfectly sized shelving unit, which provides additional space without making the room seem smaller. A towel rack added to the door gives more places to hang towels, clothes, or other items. We will also include a full set of linens and bedding for the bunks and the main bed, as well as other accessories (mini-hairdryer, camp chairs, electrical plug adapters, water hose, etc.).
