The 2019 Grand Design Solitude 310GK is a popular fifth wheel RV, known for its livability and spacious interior, especially for longer trips. It features a kitchen island, four-door refrigerator/freezer, large pantry and a flip-top dresser. The model is also known for its well-built construction and livable floor plan. An ample furnace as well as electric heater/fireplace keeps the interior very comfortable as well as protecting the contents of the basement from freezing. Weve experienced sustained temperatures down to 14 degrees without frozen plumbing.

This Solitude has been extremely dependable and well taken care of. It has taken us all over North America from Nova Scotia in the Northeast to Fairbanks, Alaska in the Northwest, and from the Smoky Mountains in the East to Yuma, Arizona in the Southwest. And MANY places in between! Dependability requires maintenance and we have replaced tires, springs, shackles, bearings and brakes along the way as needed.

When not on the road, this Solitude has been stored at home inside our shop/barn. Keeping it out of the elements when not in use makes a huge difference extending the lifetime of the roof, various seals, tires and exterior finishes.

Our Solitude has also been adapted to take on long trips to remote locations by adding an Onan 5,500 watt propane generator, a GoPower! 3,000 watt charger/inverter powered by Trojan deep-cycle flooded-cell batteries supporting operation over extreme high and low temperatures. We also converted the Norcold evaporative refrigerator from 120VAC/propane operation to dual 12VDC compressor (freezer and refrigerator) systems. This allows normal operation while traveling, without needing any propane, and enables colder freezer temperatures, even on the hottest days.
