Description

2017 Winnebago Brave 31C. Supposedly these were only made for the 2014, 2015 & 2016 model years. I've never seen another 2017 for sale. The previous owners retired, bought this unit, and drove it for 60,000 miles in about 2 ½ years. I think that they mostly drove it back & forth between their homes in Michigan and Colorado. We bought it in 2019 and have had it camping in 10 different states and drove it for 10,000 miles. We had so much fun in it that we upgraded to one a little bigger and with more features.

Are you concerned about the mileage? Why? If you were buying a used pickup truck would you be concerned about 70,000 miles? What is the difference? This chassis and engine design has been around for many years and is very reliable. I have owned 6 - 8 gas vehicles that had well over 100,000 miles when I got rid of them. The engines were all still running great when I sold them. How will you be using this motorhome? If you use it like we did, you could have it for 10 years and only have around 100,000 miles on it. Overall, it's in good to very good condition. Even though it has 70,000 miles, it has minimal interior wear. If the other one we bought were to break down, I wouldn't hesitate to use this one again. Every month or so, I exercise the generator, run the engine to warm it up, drive it back & forth a little, run the auto level system and run the slides in & out.

But don't take my word, hire an RV inspector. I used this company when I bought our current one: https://nrvia.org/. I'll split the cost with you for an inspection, up to $500, but only if I get a copy of the inspection report and can verify ahead of time that the inspector is legitimate

Recent new front tires! Recent new starter battery and 3 new group 31 deep cycle house batteries (and room in the battery tray for 3 more)! Full gasoline and full propane! Recent full wall slide out awning and recent rear brake pads. Fresh oil change. Aftermarket steering stabilizer and suspension improvements make handling great. Ready to hit the road again!

Read the factory brochure (https://www.winnebago.com/Files/Images/Winnebago/brochures/2016/2016-br-digital-bro.x.pdf) and look at the photos for details about this unit.

Several DIY upgrades: drivers side shelving unit; plastic box cubbies on both drivers & passenger sides; center console tray; deeper cup holders; stair railings on both sides of entry way; single handle shower faucet; different shower head; central vacuum system added; Level Mate Pro level measuring system added; better TV installed; additional TV antenna included; DVD player added; TV component switch added for DVD, satellite, PC or phone input to TV; audio cable added so TV audio can play through the dash stereo system; Keurig coffee maker included (mounted in place but can be removed); patio mat included; the original gas oven/stove unit has been removed and replaced with countertop, an air fryer rotisserie oven in the space below and a 2 burner portable infrared cooktop (great to cook outside in hot weather)(all of that gives you much more counter space but will be replaced with the original gas oven/stove unit if you prefer).

Big waste storage tanks 62-gallon gray and 45-gallon black. The freshwater tank is only 52 gallons and does not have a manual fill port, but I've included a system where you can pump water into the tank from a 5-gallon bucket.

Unmounted spare tire and tire covers included.

Issues: The awning unrolls but doesn't push out. A good tug and it pops out. I made a tool to pull it out and that's included. It has its share of cosmetic dings and scratches. The water line came off the back of the ice maker so I removed the ice maker since we would rather have the freezer space. We just used a couple of plastic ice trays, and they are included. The ice maker is included but the fridge may need to be pulled out to reconnect the water line. The gray tank heater pad was missing when we bought it and I bought another, but it's not installed. The driver's seat has wear marks. The passenger seat has some also.
