March 20, 2024 update:
Please refer to USA NHTSA Vehicle Importation Guidelines. Since the original manufacturer, Roadtrek Motorhomes Inc, is no longer in business I was not able to obtain a compliance letter for the importation.
I have to travel next week back to Canada so I don't have the time to pursue this. If anyone knows how to import this RV into the USA without the compliance letter please advise. I have contacted a few Registered Importers (RI) with no luck

2008 Mercedes Diesel Roadtrek Ideal. Purchased new in 2010 as this is when it was assembled eventhough registered as a 2008 (Year chasis was built by Freightliner). I am the second owner and "begged" my neighbor to sell it to me 3 years ago so I could travel to Florida (in Covid). I am purchasing a condo in Florida so I no longer need this vehicle. Also, I am going back to Canada On March 31 so I need to sell it before then.

It is registered in Canada but was manufactured in USA so odometer is in miles (not kms). As of March 6/24 I am checking into the procedures to import this vehicle into the USA.

I purchased it from the original elderly owner with 17, 000 miles 3 years ago. I put the extra 50,000 miles on it travelling to Florida (from Canada) in the last 3 years (from October to March each year).
This vehilce has been very well maintained and I just installed new tires (in October/23) and brakes (Jan 2024).

The benefit of this Ideal Model is it is 20 ft long but extends to 23 feet when the bed slides out the back. That makes this vehicle easy to park anywhere. It has a bigger fridge, microwave, built in generator, tv, AC, sink, shower, toilet, etc. This is a must see vehicle and very well maintained
