Description

Upgraded Jayco Class C 31 XL
Well-maintained Ford E-450 V10 gas engine

Great Class C for families. There is one short Queen bed in the back, bunk beds in one slide out and a regular queen over the cab. The jack knife sofa and dinette can be used for extra sleeping. Two slide outs.

This motorhome is spacious, comfortable, reliable, and very well-equipped. It has been modernized by removing the gas generator to install a 10KW LFP battery in the same compartment which silently runs all the DC and AC loads. This massive battery is paired with a 3500W Inverter/charger and 1400W of roof mounted solar. A split system heat pump was installed in the rear bumper to cool or heat the sleeping area on the back, or the whole cabin if needed. The stock refrigerator was replaced with a 12cu ft. 12v model which runs 24/7/365.

The Battery-Inverter-Solar combo can run the following without shore power:

  • The ducted A/C for about four hours in the summer
  • The split system in the back for 48 hours
  • The 12cu. ft refrigerator-freezer indefinitely with solar
  • The propane furnace (electric side) for three days
  • An induction cooktop for 8 to 10 meals
  • Microwave oven
  • Combination of previous items for shorter time
Standard equipment:
  • Coleman 15,000 BTU roof air conditioner
  • One 32” TV mounted to swing out above the table
  • Drives great with the JRide package
  • Six seatbelts in the living area
  • Hard wired rear backup camera
  • Propane/electric water heater
  • Water tank heaters ensure water won’t freeze!
  • Tons of storage inside and out
Upgrades:
  • 200AH 48 Volt LFP battery (10,000+ Watts) which runs all 12v DC coach components as well as all 110v AC outlets.
  • 3500W All-in-one hybrid solar inverter/charger Renogy 48V
  • 4x 355W solar panels for a total of 1,420 Watts, expandable to 6 panels or more than 2,000W
  • Auto transfer switch
  • Split heat-pump unit which cools or heats all night long
  • Propane line with extra Tee to use external grill
  • Extension cord at rear bumper for charging towed toys while driving
  • 10cu. Ft. 12 Volt refrigerator/freezer combo.
  • All mattresses have been replaced
  • Flooring was replaced
Noted pending fixes:
  • Windshield is cracked and needs to be replaced
  • The jackknife sofa is useful but unsightly, needs to be recovered or replaced
Wanda is what we affectionally call our motorhome. She has served well our family of four on our way to visiting all 50 states. She has been on both coasts and Canada. We are entering a new chapter so Wanda needs a new adventurous and caring family.
