Description
This Forester 2401WS Class C made by Forest River has amenities and equipment to meet the needs of most RV travelers. A U-shaped dinette is a focal point for family meals and social get-togethers with friends and family. At night, the dinette can be easily converted to a sofabed that sleeps two teenagers. Across from the dinette are a full-functioning kitchen with a large sink, a three-burner LP cooktop, and a microwave oven. A flip-up countertop increases the useful space, and a large Dometic refrigerator keeps your drinks cool and food fresh. A separate freezer compartment extends the capacity for a longer outdoor experience by a few days without rushing to a grocery. Plenty of overhead cabinets and drawers near the floor for storing the dishes, cookware, and supplies. Opposite the kitchen, there is a pantry for spices and dry goods. Next to the pantry is a large closet for clothes. The full wall slideout moves two and a foot to provide a larger living space that adds to long-stay comfort. The queen-size bed is one of the best features because the mattress is so comfortable. In the left rear corner is the bathroom with a vanity, sink, toilet, and shower. There are two TVs, one in the queen bedroom and another in the over-the-cab area. Six storage areas, accessible from the exterior, provided more than adequate storage for all of our travel needs. We made several shorter excursions that lasted three to eight weeks plus several long treks over the west and southwest of our beautiful country lasting six-seven months.
A 9-gallon LPG tank powers the stove, Atwood water heater (6-gallon), refrigerator, Suburban furnace, and Onan RV QG 3600 generator. It has an Arctic Package that keeps the water and the grey tanks from freezing. It is also equipped with a BigFoot self-leveling system with jacks on all four corners. On the roof, there is a 200-watt solar panel, an AC, three ventilation openings with fans, and various antennas.
The reliable MB Sprinter turbo diesel provides ample torque and moves the rig at highway speed with ease. No detectable oil consumption between oil changes and 300k mile service life is a common occurrence. The transmission fluid was replaced a few thousand miles ago, so it should be good for another 50,000 miles. The engine oil was just changed. All tires, including the spare, are in great condition.
We enjoyed the Forester; it gave us the most memorable time, and we will miss it. It's your turn to enjoy it.
