1970 Airstream SafariPurchased and loved since 2015 and my wife and I have been enjoying and improving her ever since. The classic mid century decor and vibe have been preserved while making practical upgrades to make her more serviceable. We bought a 2023 Airstream and need to say goodby to our vintage Airstream.Upgrades:2016 Rear and forward subfloor replaced. While the subfloor was removed, 2 21 gallon gray water tanks 42 gallons of gray water capacity were added. The vintage airstreams only had a small black water tank and no gray water holding tanks. The new tanks are a must when you don't have a sewer hook up on site.Custom shower, sink, and new Dometic toilet added during rebuild of the rear sleeping area/bathroom.2016 All window and door seals replaced.2016 New Sureflow water pump and pex plumbing2017 New custom curtains2019 New Dometic refrigerator2019 New Goodyear tires2019 New battery2021 New flooring2022 New tongue jackWe have camped mostly in MI, but recent road trips include Smokey mountains in 2022 and Rocky Mountain National Park in 2021. The trailer tows like a dream with my 2015 F 150. Hopefully this camper is enjoyed and preserved by the next adventurers. Happy trails!Based on questions received, the previous owner installed a new axel with electric brakes. Frame restoration was also completed at that time. A new belly pan was installed. The electric wiring is a combination of new and old, some original incandescent lighting and some LED lighting. The air conditioner is not the original, it was replaced at some point and blows cold air. All components work as of winterizing last fall. The trailer is still winterized.
