Some thoughts from an owner of 8 previous Airstream Interstates:

- Whatever unit you buy, make sure it's a 4x4 model.

The short supply of the 4x4 Airstream Interstate ensures you will always have demand when you re-sell (less than 10% of all ASI produced are 4x4 since introduced in 2017). Personally, we have owned 8 total units, and five 4x4 units.The 4x4 units sits a bit higher up front (last image shows this with two silver vans, and 4x4 silver on your left) and the 4x4 won't "nose-dive" with braking. 4x4 van handles better overall, and has a more impressive appearance than the 2wd. Plus it's much easier to drive during unexpected heavy rain we've alal experienced at night, slick roads, steep inclines, and of course snow covered roads effortlessly. The 4x4 option is worth 2-3x it's almost $10k additional feature cost.

Additional thoughts: A Lounge model is more Valuable than a Grand Tour Interstate

- A Lounge model versus a Grand Tour: With a Grand Tour when traveling with a guest, the guest(s) are relegated 20 feet away from the hosts, in the very far back of the coach (where it rides the harshest). Lounge Benefits: Four captains chairs up front allows four guests to enjoy time near one another while underway, or stopped for app's, dinner, cocktails or a card/board game. Plus a Lounge is more versatile, allowing you to remove the second row captains chairs for dog crates or just plain open space . The open, bright, airy and versatile layout of a Lounge is why it's easier to sell in the used market. This is your (versatile) Adventure Getaway Vehicle for visiting new destinations and family family far away. Not a place to pack away all your extra kitchen gadgets :)
