This 2013 Roadtrek CS Adventurous is built on a Mercedes Benz Chassis with a 3.0 L V6 Turbo Diesel engine that has a five speed transmission and 325 ft-lb of torque. It is the perfect travel companion for a couple with two small children or an older couple who want to explore the country. The powerful diesel engine gets 15-17 mpg in our experience.

It has an expanded galley with a 7 cu. ft. refrigerator, convection microwave oven and abundant storage. The Alde hydronic heating system provides in-floor radiant heat, supplementary radiant heat in the bathroom, and hot water.

Included is the optional E-Trek package which has a 240 watt solar panel capable of topping off the six AGM batteries. The engine’s generator will completely re-charge in forty minutes. A second generator is not required and the combination of solar power, shore power, propane and a ton of battery storage give you plenty of time for off grid boondocking.

The Roadtrek CS Adventurous sleeps two adults and a child with the optional front bed for another child. It seats five for traveling so you can put the kids in a tent or a small trailer when you arrive at your destination.

The Sprinter van is very easy to drive. We have added an after market blind spot indicator and we changed out the radio to a Kenwood which is much easier to use than the original. Otherwise it is stock with heated seats and other features you would expect in a Mercedes.

The CS Adventurous is designed for living in comfort. It sacrifices a second aft captains chair for a larger refrigerator and a practical microwave. As a result, there is more storage for food and you can store more gear.

The inside bathroom is small, as you would expect in a Class B motorhome, but it is functional. There is an outside shower which is great for washing off after adventures.

The rear area is a large bench that seats three and turns into a queen plus sized bed (or two twins) with an electronic switch.

The Mercedes Sprinter 3500 platform is a breeze to drive and the controls are simple and straightforward. It feels much more like a car than a van and, with some practice, can be parked almost anywhere.

The Mercedes Sprinter is attractive and we are frequently asked to show the inside when we are at campgrounds. It takes a while to learn all the ins and outs of this outstanding design, but once you do you will appreciate all the options.
