Description

Over the past two years, our stealth pet-friendly shuttle bus has taken us on some amazing and beautiful journeys. We've even lived and worked from the bus full-time. This is the result of 9 months of full-time work converting a Ford E450 shuttle bus into a fully off-grid mobile tiny home. We spent a lot of time making sure this would feel like home both inside and outside of the city. Titled and insured as a Class C motorhome. Check out our video tour on youtube for more detail.

Power

  • 3 x 160w flexible low profile solar panels = 480w of solar
  • 4 x Battle Born Lithium Batteries = 400ah capacity with 8 years remaining on manufacturer warrantee
  • 2000W inverter
  • Shore power connection for plugging into a house or campground’s power
  • Enough solar to silently camp in cities without running a generator

Water
  • 95 gallon fresh water tank
  • 39 gallon grey water tank
  • Electronic gauges for both tanks
  • Electric water pump with silencing kit

Comforts
  • Remote-entry doors. We wired the electric front doors to two wireless remotes.
  • Maxxair Vent Fan - the fancy model with the remote and thermostat and electric raise and lower
  • 6'7" ceiling height
  • Bug screens in all side windows
  • Diesel heater with ability to heat bedroom, living room, or both
  • Bed size between full and queen (56"x80") with backrest and curtain to create a private room
  • Couch made from two IKEA Poang recliners - so comfy and feels like home.
  • Color-changing lights in living room and bedroom
  • Task lighting under light bar in kitchen
  • Large 55-Quart Costway DC fridge/freezer
  • Desk with proper office chair for working from home, plus a folding chair for dinner for two at a table
  • Carpet squares are individually removable and washable
  • Rear view camera for safe backing up
  • Garage. The wheelchair lift has been removed. Great for storing outdoor gear, folding bikes, and access to refill the water tank

Bathroom
  • Built in urinal works for ladies, too. (Lookup the "shewee" on amazon)
  • Ready for a composting toilet.
  • In cities, we shower at gyms. When camping outdoors, we use an outdoor shower tent. To shower inside, we tuck two plastic shower curtains into a tall rubbermaid tub then dump the water down the sink.

Engine
  • It’s a Ford E450 Super Duty, which means everything is tougher than in a typical Ford. With regular maintenance, these engines can go 3-400,000 miles. We bought it with 218K miles and so far, we’ve only had to replace a speed sensor and the serpentine belt. This is the 6.8L V10 gas engine, which gets 8-9 mpg.
