Description

OFF-GRID READY! Do you want to run the air conditioner off batteries only?  How about dry camp for two weeks without worrying about power?  How about keeping your passengers cool by running the house A/C while driving? You can do all of this with this rig.

This is a very gently used, off-grid capable 2018 Airstream Interstate GT Tommy Bahama special edition. It has 12951 miles and is exceptionally clean. It still has that new-car smell. Unfortunately life gets in the way and we have to part with it.

This Interstate has 600 aH of LifeBlue lithium, a 3000 watt Victron inverter and 400 watts of solar. I had it all professionally installed by AM Solar in Eugene, OR.  I've included the full receipt for your review. If you do a little research you will find they are the premier installer for lithium and solar systems for RVs. You can monitor the whole system via Bluetooth on your phone or via the web.

We purchased this Interstate new with the intention of immediately having it outfitted with a lithium power system and it is everything we hoped. You can run the house air conditioner for hours. The batteries are recharged by the factory alternator while you drive or just plug in once you reach your destination. Or simply use the generator.

For example, on one hot trip I drove from Palm Springs, CA to Tucson, AZ. I ran the house A/C nearly all day while driving. The house was cool and comfortable while it consistenly exceeded 115 that day. Needless to say, we were quite comfortable. Once reaching our destination at about 10pm, the batteries were at 60%.  The next morning, by 10am, they were already topped up to 100% from the solar alone.

Realistically, you can expect about 3 hours of running the A/C 100% full blast. Plenty of reserve power to run the rest of the house, including the microwave, fridge + freezer and all the lights. You simply don't need to think about power.

This is why the generator only has 1.7 hours on it.  I've simply never needed to use it. It's nice to know you have it should you need to recharge the batteries but you could also sell the generator and recoupe $1500 - $2000 and save the weight.

This Interstate has only been driven along the west coast, mostly in California and also between California and Arizona.  It has always been stored in a secure, covered location.

We are non-smokers and have never cooked in the unit.  We have never showered in the unit so the bath area has always been clean and dry.  Nothing has ever gone down into the grey tank but soap, water and toothpaste. It is clean and odor free. We also have a "no #2 policy" so the toilet and black tank are clean and odor free (I know that would cross my mind)

Everything in this Interstate works perfectly as new. Plenty of meat on the tires. Comes with all Tommy Bahama accessories new/unused, in their boxes with tags. Has a beautiful teak floor in the bath.
