This is a once commercial van that was converted to a very basic camper. It has a comfortable bed, shelving, internal bike mounts and solar panels with the ability to light the interior, run the vent fan, recharge phones, computers, and a CPAP machine all night. We used the trailer hitch for our bike rack and used the tracks on top to transport our kayaks.

This van has just under 250,000 miles on the odometer, but the mechanic says this Mercedes diesel has at least another 250,000 miles. It accelerates great having plenty of power from the diesel. The body has some rust spots that we have treated with and painted.

The battery is charged by a solar panel and/or van engine.

The cabin is pretty basic. We have both key FOB. The seats are quite comfortable and we never got tired of driving on our trips to Kansas, twice to Michigan, Upstate New York and New Hampshire along with dozens of day trips.

The conversion was done by my son and his wife about 7 years ago. They used the van during a year off to hike and camp in the Western US. We’ve really enjoyed the year we have owned so much that we are upgrading to a Winnebago. This van is ready to start exploring today or can be the beginnings of someone's own conversion.
