Recently, there has been much discussion on the VanLeigh RV Owners Group Facebook page about the construction quality issues related to the newer (2020, 2021) VanLeigh Vilano & Beacon recreational vehicles manufactured by Tiffin. The quality issues, certainly not unique to VanLeigh and ongoing in the entire RV industry, appear to be linked to Thor’s acquisition of Tiffin recreational vehicles in December 2020, coupled with the increased demand for RV’s brought on by the Covid pandemic and still ongoing today. To meet this surge in demand, production has ramped up significantly without the attention to detail & quality control. Our Vilano 394 RK was built in January 2020, prior to Thor’s acquisition of Tiffin recreational vehicles and prior to the sloppy production surge. We believe we have been fortunate to have not experienced this slide in quality, fit & finish. Additionally, any issues we’ve experienced have always been successfully resolved with the outstanding customer service that is still provided by the VanLeigh division to this day.
