• 2016 Jayco Melbourne 24k built on the Mercedes Sprinter 3500 chassis, with a V6 diesel.

The Melbourne24K is a great motorhome, the perfect size to get places that large motorhomes just can’t, yet it’s still very roomy on the inside with the two slide-outs.

The generator is diesel, not propane; for those unfamiliar with the difference, propane needs nearly twice the amount of fuel to produce the same amount of power. The propane tank on the Melbournes holds only about 9 gallons of propane. The propane generator on the Melbourne uses about .7 gallons per or nearly 13 hours of use before the propane tank runs dry. The diesel generator consumes only .4 gallons per hour, and it is feed from the large diesel tank. It does have a safety system, and the generator will stop when the fuel tank is at 25% capacity.
The floor plan sleeps 4 comfortably. Two in the rear queen, one at the dinette bed, one in the bunk, and plenty of interior storage space for all of your gear. The kitchen has a dinette slide out with an overhead cabinet, and the dinette converts into a bed.
On the other side of the motor home, two burner range, convection microwave, overhead storage cabinet, find a flip-up counter, a single sink, and an 8 cu. ft. refrigerator.
The bathroom has a toilet and shower.
There is a sink and medicine cabinet just outside the bathroom.
Outside there is exterior storage and a 14' awning with LED lighting.
Maintaining these vehicles is very easy; oil changes take about 15 minutes. I have done all of the servicing myself.
We consistently get between 13-15 mpg with the diesel engine!
