Description

2004 Roadtrek 190 Versatile. This is a super easy to drive camper van because everything is built inside this extended Chevy Express 3500. For sleeping, it has a full-sized bed in the back. When not sleeping, the bed converts to a dinette for four. Up front, it has four seats, two swivel captain’s chairs at the front, and two additional chairs behind. At night, the four chairs convert into two bunks (suitable only for children). During the day, the captain’s chairs swivel to face the other seats with a table in the middle for dining—sweet! OK, enough of that. If you want to know more of the technical details of a Roadtrek 190 Versatile, go to their website. Now… let’s talk about this particular vehicle. Gracie (that’s her name by the way) is really just for the two of us. We leave the bed made up in the back and we swivel the captain’s chairs around in the evening, recline them back, use the other seats as foot rests, pop some popcorn in the microwave, and watch a movie. I mean really, isn’t that what it’s all about? Gracie has all the amenities: toilet, shower, fridge, heat, A/C, hot water, stove, microwave, generator, updated bluetooth-enabled stereo with backup camera (remember, go to the website if you want all the details—these are really awesome RVs!) So, what do you want to know if you’re thinking about buying Gracie? Well, she is a 30th Anniversary Edition. That means she has top-tier appointments like maple cabinets and an all leather interior. How about mileage—110,900 miles. For a truck, that’s nothing. If you like to go off-grid, the generator is nearly new with only 295 hours and we doubled-up on two deep-cell batteries for extended “dry camping.” You know, national forest, side of the road, and even Walmart camping, that sort of thing. The toilet was showing its age, so that’s new. Look, nothing is perfect, but we keep Gracie running in top form. My wife and I bought her in 2010 with 54,000 miles and have thoroughly enjoyed our camping adventures. However, we now have grandkids who we want to take camping. We need a bigger rig. So, while we’re looking for a truck and pull-along camper, you’re looking for a vehicle like Gracie. Perhaps you’ve found what you’re looking for.
