Description

This 2006 Roadtrek 170 Popular is a Class B that will fit even into any city parking space. It is based on a Chevy 2500 Express van (6 liter, gasoline fuel injected V-8) that has the horsepower to manage hills and highway speeds. The automatic transmission was rebuilt in 2019 at 68,000 miles to extra heavy duty specs. At the same time we had a 2” lift kit and a custom built skid pan installed in order to provide extra ground clearance and protection for the sewage macerator pump. New struts added stiffness to the ride and improved stability.

There is adequate tankage to allow you to spend time boon docking or dry camping: fuel (31 gal), freshwater (14 gal and city water connection), grey water (23 gal), black water (8 gal), propane (10 gal). The propane water heater has a 6 gal tank capacity

Both batteries (starting and house) were replaced in June 2019. The onboard 120v 2.8Kw generator (Onan) runs well and has logged 500 hours. Shore power is 30 amp.

The galley is small in size but large on features. There is a two burner stove top, microwave, 3-way refrigerator (120vac, 12vdc, or propane), a sink with on-demand hot and cold water, 2 pull out counter extensions and an external propane connection for a barbeque.

Comfort and safety are provided with the van a/c, a 12000 BTU heat pump, 16000 BTU propane furnace, Fantastic Fan, propane alarm, new smoke and CO alarms and a backup camera.

Driving and accommodations include high back, leather front seats that tilt and swivel. There are two tables; one is a clover leaf style that fits with the swiveled cab seats. The rear tabletop transfers as a support to form the full bed (50” x 74”). There is an abundance of storage, including a cupboard for clothing that requires hanging, and an additional specially installed pantry next to the passenger entrance. This is in the space that quite often is reserved for a 3rd seat. The head/toilet has pressurized water flush and privacy door aft of the galley. There are both inside and outdoor showers. The flat screen TV (17”) has inputs from the DVD, antenna and cable.

This 18.5’ Class B unit is small in size but so big in convenience. It is comfortable and ready to provide in town, campground or dispersed camping.
