Description

2017 Ford Transit 250
High Roof - Extended
3.7L V6 gasoline engine
48,400 miles
Under 5 year / 60,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty

The rear slider tray rails are 60in long and rated at 500lbs. Bikes are secured to the tray with Rocky Mounts for the front axle, and two eyelets and a bungee to prevent the rear wheel from moving. The tray length is ~72 inches, which was designed to fit up to an XXL downhill bike. The rails are secured to crossbeams, which distribute the load when the slider tray is fully extended. The slider could also make for a great gear storage area with easy access.

The van has foam board insulation in places that recessed pockets were located in the walls. The ceiling has foam board installed between the bulkheads. The entire floor has 2" foam board installed underneath plywood. The flooring is peel and stick vinyl flooring tiles. There are two passenger seat mount rails located underneath the floor, which are accessed by removing two flooring pucks. This allows for an additional 2 person OEM bench to be installed (included). Every cabinet that is seen can be used for storage except for the smallest lower cabinet, which is reserved for the electrical system. Each cabinet door is held closed by a magnet and none have opened while driving.

The electrical system is comprised of 300w of solar and a 200ah AGM Renogy battery. The solar charging is handled by a Renogy Rover charge controller. All of the smaller electrical loads are wired to a Blue Sea fuze block. There are two Maxxair fans installed (10 speed, two-directional) to allow for cross ventilation inside. These can keep the van cool during hot summer days and prevent moisture buildup during humid days and colder temperatures. There are two reading lights installed above the bed area, each with a usb charging port. A 4 port usb outlet is mounted next to the countertop, along with a dual zone, dimming light switch for the front and back portions of the van. There are 4 LED, flush mounted lights in the front and 4 in the back portion. Each set is managed by a separate light switch. The Dometic 50cf fridge is plugged in to a DC port. The fridge is secured to a DFG off-road fridge slider tray built specifically for this fridge model. To access the fridge, it can either be pulled out on the slider reached from the hinged opening integrated into the seating area. A 500W portable inverter is included (not currently hardwired).
