Description

** The airstream is still for sale as long as this listing is active **

Six years ago we realized our dream of buying, renovating, and living out of a beautiful vintage 1964 airstream trailer. We named her Milly. We made amazing memories in Milly but its time to find a good home and pass the baton to someone else. This trailer is perfect for:

  • A couple wanting an adventure-mobile thats a step up from car camping without hauling a huge trailer
  • A household that wants to add a flexible office or bedroom space to their backyard for guests or a college student
  • A store or restaurant owner wanting to adapt a vintage airstream for a mobile business

Our renovation focused on five areas:
  • Solid bones: This trailer has solid bones – we invested in a new axle, new electrical, a new subfloor, and new insulation throughout. This airstream should last a very, very long time.
  • Deep sleep: With a custom queen size bed and foam mattress, overnight stays in this airstream feel more like sleeping in a hotel than camping.
  • Home Cooking: The kitchen has a gas stove, lots of storage, large surfaces, and a simple sink.
  • Solar powered: This trailer has a set of solar panels, which means you won’t have to rely on trailer parks if you don’t want to and can have true independence on every trip.
  • Open floor plan: This trailer is designed around open living space, which leaves a lot of flexibility for you to tailor it to meet your needs.

Note: The trailer does not currently have a bathroom, although you could easily install one if that is a priority for you.

The good:
  • 19’ and easy to tow
  • $9000+ worth of renovations already invested in the trailer
  • Open floor plan, easily customized to meet your needs
  • Solar panels and batteries (with plug-in capability)
  • Skylight
  • Several interior outlets, reading lights
  • Faucet + sink with electric water pump
  • Bamboo flooring
  • Custom under-bed storage, queen-sized foam mattress
  • Gas line to add fridge or heater
  • Climate control with a Fantastic FanPainted interior

The work ahead:

This trailer is ready to use on day one. We imagine new owners would want to spend $1K-$3k on some basic cosmetic/functional upgrades and tailoring the space to meet your needs. For example, one of the cabinet doors scratches the floor when it opens. Doors could be added to a pair of shelves in the kitchen. Baseboard could be added along the perimeter run between the floor and the walls. Would sing with a new coat of paint.
