2018 AIRSTREAM SPORT 22 FT - BEAUFORT, SOUTH CAROLINA

We bought this one year old Airstream in early 2019 to make two trips; the Canidian Maritimes including New Foundland which we did last year and Alaska. This year we could not do Alaska instead we just returned form a six trip to the West Coast visitng many of our Grand National Parks. It was great. The previous owner liked RVing so much they moved up to a larger Airstream.

We choise the 22 Sport because Airstream sized it for the European market making it 11 inches narrower than all other Airstreams so it fits between the mirrows of larger SUVs. It also has more tankage, a standup enclosed shower and seperate head.

Preparing for Alaska we installed new Goodyear Endurance tires. Also we installed a "lift kit" made by the axel mfg that raises the trailer height 3 inches. Not only are trailer clearences improved the height of the tung better matches the height SUV. The Equalizer Load Lever/Swaybar, included in the sale, directs the weight to all three axels making driving the trailer and SUV as one unit. Much better driving/braking experience. We are replacing the 1 step folding step system with a folding 2 steps.

When it opens, we will see Alaska from a ship. Wish it was otherwise. The Airsteam myth is true, wonderful products and the most admired trailer in RV life.
