Description

IF YOU SEE THIS AD, I STILL HAVE IT!!!!

First, it is not a travel trailer - it is an excellent tow vehicle for your travel trailer: A 2002 Ford E350 Chateau Van – with the legendary 7.3 diesel motor (yes, they are quite rare!!) I am the second owner. It is set up to pull my 26' travel trailer - it can do anything less than 10,000 lbs.

When I purchased it two years ago, it had about 320K miles on it – it now has almost 330K – the vast majority highway miles. It does have some miles, although has many more left in it. It is also DEF-free, unlike every other new diesel. Over the last few years, we have had extensive work professionally completed on this van. This includes ALL of the “typical issues” the 7.3 motors have as they get older. This includes: New injectors (Motorcraft), new glow plugs, new injector wiring harness, new injector computer, new brakes (all around), new water pump, new thermostat, new hoses, new drive belt, two new alternators (yes, it has two), new windshield, and new batteries.

It has also had the transmission professionally (and custom to tow up to 12K lbs – RV shift kit) rebuilt and set up for towing. Along with this, it has a new tranny fluid cooler and a rebuilt torque converter. The rear end (a Dana 60 with limited slip) has new fluid and seals. It also has a trailer brake controller. One of the attached pictures contains a write-up of the van's condition from one of the local diesel mechanics (Mid-Atlantic Diesel). It has also had the interior professionally modified to allow additional legroom (I am 6’2”) with new carpeting added. The front seats are now leather with the lower cushion of the driver’s seat replaced. The stereo has been replaced with a backup camera added. The stereo also has an Alpine amplifier with eight new speakers and a separate sub-woofer.

The tires are in excellent condition with lots of life left. It also has Weather Tech mats – including the rear. In the rear, I have built a “light duty” shelf. When traveling, I found that I needed to keep my tools, hitch, and other “greasy stuff” away from the baggage and other “clean stuff”. Thus, the shelf is now there – it can easily be removed if needed. It does have a few scratches, bumps, and small issues – like the passenger-side mirror not always doing as asked. It also has some rust starting around the bottom edges of the front doors – they can be repaired or replaced.
This is an excellent "cheap" tow vehicle.
