This 2020 Coachman Beyond is built on the Ford Transit HD350 frame with EcoBoost engine.

The van has just over 38,000 miles almost all of those highway miles. The EcoBoost engine has 400 foot pounds of torque which is more than a diesel Sprinter. I made sure to get as much as I could powered through DC on the van to minimize power loss through the inverter. The rooftop A/C runs on DC. The only items in the van that need AC power are the induction cooktop and the microwave. The van has a generator which has less than 52 hours on it and I upgraded the battery to lithium. I have not needed to run the generator all that much even with boondocking. Another way to extend the boondocking was to make sure I got the induction stove versus propane. The only appliance that uses the onboard propane is the Truma water heater/furnace and it is actually dual fuel so it can use propane (recommended when off-grid), electric, or a combination of the two. Boondocking and using the van 4 seasons (and using propane when off-grid) it took about 8 months to need a refill on propane. The van does have full hook ups and a full wetbath. The bath set up is the RB or rear bath floorplan. While a lot of people dream about having the back doors open and lay in bed, in reality its hard to do and have privacy and gets the bed dirty. The rear bath option gave me a larger bath and HUGE wardrobe. The beds are technically twins and are designed to stay seperate but I have pushed them together and used a filler cushion to create a full/queen and it was great.
